Making Stuff and Doing Things in the Pacific Northwest

I began my Etsy shop in 2010, originally making laser cut wood pieces with a laser cutter I had access to (and learned to use) in landscape architecture school. As I got more and more into making jewelry, I branched out into new materials and techniques.

My primary role as a designer is treasure hunter. When I travel (which is as often as possible) I visit rock hounds in their basement shops, beaches, metalsmithing supply shops and everything in between to find the most unique materials to incorporate into my jewelry work. As a result, many of my pieces are either one of a kind or limited editions.

As a landscape architect intern by day I spend a lot of time on the computer. Jewelry is the antithesis of landscape design. It is small scale, immediate, and very tactile and hands on. For me, it is a chance to regularly make things while landscapes I design may take years to be built.

Camp + Quarry is always evolving. I have begun to delve deeper into metalsmithing and hand dyeing techniques lately and look forward to sharing my new skills and ideas in jewelry and textile form very soon!
