Alex has outdone himself again In creating for me a(nother) bespoke historical wooden seax sheath. This time for my short seax. I asked Alex If he could match this sheath to the one he created for my large seax, and as usual he was happy to oblige ... the sheath Is perfectly shaped around the contours of my knife, Is made of oiled Walnut wood, and has a brilliant representation of the exact beast carving I wanted to use (see photo). The seax Is a snug fit, and leather thongs keep It In place - All historically accurate. This Is my third custom order from Alex, and hopefully will not be the last! Please give Alex and Sadors Vice a try, you will not be disappointed. He Is such a great guy, and his communication during the whole thing Is second to none. Excellent price and fast delivery. As ever, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

A really well made, custom cover that fits my 22x12cm frankish axe like a glove. A very easy set of instructions for me to follow for precise measurements and great communication from the seller. Were I to break this in the future, I would definitely be coming back here for a replacement...

What can I say to do this custom order justice ..... Alex Is such a brilliant guy, In the fact that he Is has a great attitude, and tends to under-estimate his own skills. He Is now, after two custom orders, my 'go to' craftsman for this kind of thing. As can be seen from the pic, both the handle grips and sheath are superbly created - the relief carving Is outstanding! Alex kept me fully updated during the work, provided Ideas and suggestions, offered a choice of historically accurate woods, quoted me a very reasonable price, and his work has significantly Improved my seax, even rectifying a previous weight/balance Issue! All materials and creative methods used are historically accurate and the fit of my seax Into the sheath Is perfect. In short I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND both Alex and Sadors Vice. Again I am 100% satisfied.

The swords were beautifully made, and were wonderful to hold. I couldn't recommend these more. Also the seller communicated well, and made and sent my order really quickly. Top marks :)

What does "Sador's Vice" mean?
The name of my shop is a combination of two words.
Sador is a character from Tolkien's "The Children of Húrin" set in the First Age of Middle Earth. Sador was a wise old carpenter and servant of the Húrin, and the childhood friend of Húrin's son Túrin. Not one of the heroic characters, but one that I aspire to be like most.
The "Vice" part of the name comes from how my workshop started out. My Grandfather had a workshop on his farm in Serbia, and in there I always remembered an old machinist's vice mounted on the workbench. After my Grandfather passed away and I eventually got into woodworking, I managed to get this heavy old vice over to the UK to be the basis for my new little workshop. It's not a woodworker's vice, but I still use it every day as my main way of holding work. Other vices have since been used and failed where this one keeps going strong.
