Welcome! I'm Kris Hornsby, the owner/designer/metalsmith of Sage and Spirit. I live in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina, where I get a lot of my design inspiration.
My first jewelry class was as an undergrad at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Life then took me to northern California where I lived communally, worked at a co-op, and followed the music. I ended up in Western NC in the early 90's where for the past 25 years I've focused on school, family, and work. In 2018 I rediscovered my creative side and a passion for jewelry design and metalsmithing. A year later Sage and Spirit Designs was born.
I believe that jewelry should not only be beautiful but also be meaningful. I love the creative process of looking at a gemstone and brainstorming ideas (sometimes I have to just give in to what the stone wants to be). As in life I love learning, exploring nature, and adventure, this is translated into the variety of my designs. I hope my jewelry inspires you and brings you joy
