Announcement   Thank you for visiting Sage on the Mountain! I craft all of my products using essential oils for fragrance and herbs and clays for coloring. About

Hi, I'm Sarah! I made my first batch of soap in 2010 after submersing myself in books and research for several months. Although I grew up in a very earthy, self-sustaining, do-it-yourself environment, there were two things I had never made: bread with yeast and soap! Within me grew the desire to dig in and make this every day product in my own way; in a way that was simple, pure, and healthy yet with my own creative flare. I have always enjoyed the culinary arts, so soap-making seemed like another natural outlet for combining foodstuffs, flavors, and colors found in the kitchen or the garden.

When I became pregnant with my son, I grew more concerned about what I was putting in my body and also what I was putting on my body. These things were not only affecting myself, but the next generation to come. I felt that if I could design products made only from ingredients that I felt comfortable using on myself and my family, I could help everyone live a little better and leave the world a better place through conscious business choices.

I make natural soaps, lotion bars, body scrubs, and other body products using essential oils for fragrance and herbs and clays for coloring. For my base ingredients, I seek out the most unrefined oils so you can soak up the naturally-occurring benefits they hold. I source locally and organically when I can and use almost entirely biodegradable or reusable packaging.
