Is translation accurate?
All translation is provided by a native Japanese speaker and the owner of the shop, Ayumi. No google/AI/automatic translation is used.
Please look out for the shops that are using unauthentic translation.
Why are there different Japanese character styles?
Japanese writing uses three character sets: Kanji, Hiragana, and Katakana.
Kanji: Complex characters borrowed from Chinese, used for nouns and verb stems.
Hiragana: Rounded characters with a cute (kawaii) vibe, used for native Japanese words and grammatical elements.
Katakana: Angular characters, the most authentic style for writing foreign names and words.

I don't know which character style to choose from. What do you recommend?
Katakana (カタカナ) is the most authentic style to write a foreign (non-Japanese) name.
Hiragana (ひらがな) has a kawaii (cute) vibe because of its roundedness.
Kanji (漢字) is the most unique and cool style, borrowed from Chinese characters.
Our fan favorite is Kanji but our personal favorite is Hiragana. Of course, Katakana is the most authentic so you can't go wrong with that one!
