Announcement
Welcome to S. Alan Woodbine! I make custom furniture from sustainable and reclaimed logs provided by a local tree service, none of the slabs I use come from trees that have been logged. My Mennonite friends saw, air dry and kiln dry the slabs in rural Maryland.
I have scores of large black walnut and Kentucky coffeetree slabs that are currently air drying that will be ready to work later this fall.
I make whatever the slab tells me to make from it, generally dining tables, coffee tables and slabs used for desks, I have shipped them all over North America and delivered them in person all along the mid-Atlantic coast.
Based on what I have in stock or being processed, I can make almost anything to order. For more information on my shop, see my webpage: http://www.salanwoodbine.com

5 out of 5 starsPhenomenal work - exceeding expectations; looks even better than the pictures (and all the references in the EconTalk podcasts!). Scott was a proactive communicator, and an absolute delight. Highest of recommendations.

5 out of 5 starsWe are delighted with our purchase, which arrived far more quickly than we expected. The workmanship is excellent, and the mechanism for holding the game pieces is brilliant. Love it.

5 out of 5 starsThis table is beautiful. It is beyond my expectations. Scott communicated with us every step of the way and sent pictures of his progress. If I could give this table a 10 or 20 rating I would.

5 out of 5 starsThe coffee table was just as pictured and I was very happy that the tone perfectly matches the end tables in the room. The wood grain is beautiful and the table was hand delivered!!

5 out of 5 starsWhy is NO ONE mentioning how to get the pegs out of the back of the board? It’s not in the item description, and the information is not in any of the reviews. If you want to get those pegs out of the, practically-seamless, back you have to pass an intelligence test. There is a hint in the item pictures. Only a hint.

5 out of 5 starsVery high quality glasses and the EconTalk etching was top-notch. I needed these on short notice and Scott was super-communicative and got these shipped the same day I ordered them. They made a wonderful gift for my dad for his birthday. I have ordered from Scott before and will certainly do so again. He is one of the best sellers on Etsy.

Jim and I have done woodworking together for years, starting when we worked together in the Navy (he is a retired LCRD, I was a contractor). I have concentrated on larger pieces, Jim does smaller, more intricate work. When I need something laser engraved or CNC work, I have Jim do it for me.
