Live on a small island in the Pacific Northwest where I create art everyday.... have a beautiful garden, good friends, a couple cats and a hubby who wants to be a pirate 🦀🦀🦀🦀
Most of my designs are related to Lopez Island where I live
and things that make me smile.
I started painting a few years ago after I signed up for the local Saturday Market.
Not really knowing what to do and with only 2 weeks before it was to start. I thought of what my friends and I all liked and collected, especially when traveling,
t-towels and napkins.
That was the beginning of Sally by the Sea.
I create to have fun and enjoy life!!!

5 out of 5 starsI pity the fool who doesn’t have a Mr T. Towel in their kitchen! I bought this as a gift for someone a few years ago out of a shop at Pike Place Market and was sad I didn’t get one for myself. Now this glorious towel hangs proudly in my kitchen!

About sallybythesea
The making of Sally by the Sea
Sally Moore started Sally by the Sea in 2009 when she joined the Lopez Island Farmers Market. Inspired by the tea towels that she and her friends collected on their travels, Sally decided to create towels that celebrated the local Northwest flavor around her. From her home studio on Lopez Island she hand screenprints and paints each 100% cotton flour sack towel with images of wildlife found right outside her door. From salmon, crab, and octopuses to chickens, owls, and bumblebees, Sally’s towels capture the relaxed atmosphere of island life and a connection to the natural world.
“It is a really personal experience. Every towel has been touched by me at least six or seven times before it gets to them. When people buy my towels I want them to feel happy.”
