About

Rustic handmade jewelry inspired by Nature

Wildthorne Jewels is the result of many years honing creative skills to develop a metaphysical depth in my work. As someone who lives very consciously, I have devoted my artistic purpose to the same path, creating jewelry which is mindful, connected, intuitive and purposeful.

I live and work in the hills outside Santa Cruz; my studio Grey Havens was built in the late 1800s and originally served as the office on an apple farm, with 5 acres of the old orchard still remaining.

Most mornings I wake up to the still blanket of fog drifting through the old apple trees as well as the surrounding old forests of redwood, oak and ancient Jeffrey Pine, where barn owls nest. As I work in my quiet space I hear the red tailed hawks calling, and through the window glimpse woodpeckers, crow, deer, hummingbirds, rabbits and more. A short distance away is the sometimes serene but often raging sea, where I walk regularly, washing my mind with the salt air and my feet in the calling water.

All my jewels are carefully crafted by hand using traditional fabrication and metal-smith techniques, inspired by old folk jewelry and the natural beauty that surrounds me. My lyrical strands are the result of hours of meditation and some pieces can contain over 400 beads. Finished pieces are often cleansed and charged with salt water, moonlight and incense, washing them clean and ready to be worn.

I feel the women who wear Wildthorne connect towards jewelry that speaks to them on a spiritual level. Individuals who want something put together with equal parts respect for the source, meaning in the material, and harmony in the design. My clients are looking for quality and careful craftsmanship, something they can wear and feel attuned to- energetic talismans that mirror the universal source to be revered. As my designs are one of a kind or made in limited runs this means that each piece is unique. Created by my hands and never outsourced, this transference of energy from artist directly to my clients, is a singular element that enhances every jewel, a mystery connecting them to deeper ways.

Wildthorne jewelry is more than mere adornment; each stone and bead is selected with its natural properties in mind and then grouped in metaphysical number groups and harmonic colour schemes - all with a purposeful eye for meaning as well as beauty. I believe jewelry is highly personal; worn close to the skin, it literally touches us. I consider myself an energy worker as well as a jeweler and am deeply grateful for the opportunity to share it with you. May you feel the spirit that goes into my creations.

Shipping
HELLO:

Welcome to Wildthorne, below is a guideline for you to make an informed purchase from my shop.

MATERIALS:

Please note that I craft my jewels using ethically sourced materials as often as I can. All items are hand made by me (this is a one woman show), that means that each item listed (every jewel) was crafted by my hands, and scratch built from beginning to end. Please visit my “Creation and Process” page for more information. If you are new to my work please note that I deliberately seek out and incorporate elements that are raw, textural and organic, this includes variations in colors in crystals and stones as well as inclusions. What others view as imperfect flaws and blemishes in materials I see only as variations that contain a special otherness, as crystals, shells and stones come from the earth, and are not factory made.

LAYAWAY:

Established clients may request that one item be placed on reserve for them for up to two weeks. Purchase and payment are expected by then, but the purchase may be made at any time during the two-week time period. I am strict on this time as I rely on my work as a sole income and have to protect both my needs regarding that and the availability of my jewelry to my other clients. I must also let you know if you ask for a reserve listing, and then do not purchase the first half within that 3 day period I will have to deny you future reserves. Again I realize this is strict, it is for my protection as an artist in demand.

PAYMENT:

Paypal is the only method of payment I currently accept as it is safe, secure, and works with almost all credit cards. Payment is due immediately upon checkout. If you cannot use Paypal please contact me, and do not hesitate to get in touch. I will accept money orders on an individual case by case basis. SHIPPING:

All jewelry will be beautifully wrapped and securely packaged. Please see the sample gift wrap listing in my store for more details. Nearly all of the packaging material I use is either 100% recycled or partly recycled, including the mulberry fiber ribbon I incorporate. Please be sure that your Paypal shipping address is up to date, and that it is confirmed through Paypal. I am not responsible for any mis-shipments due to unconfirmed addresses. I am also not responsible if you don’t receive an item because your address is incorrect. If a package gets lost in the mail (which rarely happens) please contact me and I will work with you on an individual case basis. Parcels go out every 4-7 business days, and I try to recycle shipping materials and packaging whenever possible.

DOMESTIC SHIPPING:

All shipping for finished jewelry is PRIORITY flat rate in the United States, and is complimentary. I prefer this method as it is more secure and includes tracking, and a minimal amount of insurance. If you would like to upgrade your shipping service to include insurance or for overnight services please contact me at: wildthornerose [!at] gmail.com. The cost of gift wrapping and packaging materials is complimentary from me.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS:

Please allow up to 4-6 weeks to receive your parcel due to customs. I am not responsible for any items that are lost and damaged when insurance has not been purchased. Please note that I ship out all items USPS First class which includes a customs number, but this service does not included tracking or insurance. If you would like insurance and tracking on your parcel only the Express shipping option includes both services. Insurance is highly recommended and I am not responsible for any loss or damage that occurs through the mail when insurance is not selected. Also you may want to check with your local postal service on the specific rate of customs charges and taxes that may be assessed, as each country has its own set of policies in regards to packages arriving from the United States.

REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES:

I want you to be happy with your purchase. Since each item is unique I can only accept a return if there is a problem with your order. If your purchase needs to be repaired, please contact me within a week of receiving your item. I care deeply about the quality of my work and should a piece break I will do my best to repair it for you for a small fee, but please be aware that many of the components I use are one of a kind and irreplaceable. If your jewel is accidentally damaged, or should break after a period in time please contact me and let me know and I will work with you on how best to repair it.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

I reserve the right to cancel any transaction or sale at my discretion.

I make each item with the highest attention to detail using quality components. Each jewelry design is intentionally handcrafted with care. I want you to love your purchase so please don’t hesitate to contact me at: wildthornerose [!at] gmail.com before ordering with any questions.

COPYRIGHT:

All of my work, designs, creations, photographs and listing descriptions are U.S. Copyright protected, and may not be reproduced in any form or medium, without my written permission and consent.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Many thanks!
