Announcement   Welcome to Salon Petite, a sparkling Australian Etsy store showcasing rare and precious gemstones set in sterling silver and gold. I hope you enjoy your visit here!

Me? My name's Graham. I'm a gemstone collector and jewelry designer. My business here is all about buying quality gems at hard-bartered prices and passing those savings on to my customers.

I test all the gems I import by running refractive index, polariscopic, UV identification, and light filter analyses to assure their authenticity ... bottom line : you can rest assured that you're buying GENUINE gems when you shop here.

I mainly design settings in fine and sterling silver, occasionally full karat gold and rolled gold. I never use silver 'fill', 'plate' or 'gold tone' metals though - you'll find only nickel free, non-allergenic solid precious metals here at Salon Petite, guaranteed!

Stylewise I like French and American Art Deco, US designer Miriam Haskell (c.1930) in particular. I'm also influenced by nature, my petite wife, and my three sparkling daughters. Unsurprisingly my style leans to the sort of designs they favour, typically, pieces that are delicate, understated, luxurious, and sparkling!

The fashionable gems at the moment seem to be rubies, apatite, Turkish diaspore (sometimes called 'Zultanite'), 'Rose de France amethyst', pale emeralds (both pink and green), Madeira citrine, peach moonstone and pink tourmaline. I have a pretty nice collection of these in the store if you're interested.

I hope you enjoy looking at my work as much as I've enjoyed making it.

Thanks for visiting!

Such beautiful quality and very true to the picture. My friend loved them so much that she bought a pair herself. It also arrived very quickly with beautiful packaging.

This is a beautiful little tanzanite pendant necklace. I love it! It is genuine and I am so happy to have found a truly "genuine" tanzanite that I can afford. I fell in love with this stone before I knew it actually was my birthstone! Graham is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Thank you, Graham, for your professionalism and help.

About

Welcome to Salon Petite! Etsy reckons you might want to know the story behind this virtual market stall and its operator, so ...

My name's Graham, the owner and maker here. I first became interested in jewellery in 1970 after listening to a radio lecture by an Australian sculptor named Tom Bass. His thoughts about creativity fascinated, and led me to study Fine Arts at the Australian National Art School in the 1970s. I've always enjoyed making things, and have earned at least part of my living through some or other form of crafting since about 1980.

These days I work mainly with silver and rare gems to produce counter-fashion jewellery from my highland workshop near Orange in rural eastern Australia. I say 'counter-fashion' because the jewellery trend in recent years has been toward large bold pieces, whereas my style has always leaned in an opposite direction, toward minimalist designs - clean, neat, and petite.

I enjoy working with a variety of media besides gemstones, in particular vitreous enamels and antiquities like ancient beads and medieval coins. I seem to be forever evolving my craft interests, designs, and materials. I guess my art path has been a good example of what the ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus (500BC) used to say ...
" ... in life, 'change' is the only constant ... "

It's pretty much a one-bloke-business here at Salon Petite. All of the research, design, and manufacture, as well as photography, accounting and website maintenance is done by yours truly.

Etsy suggests that I should also mention here the ...
"things about my brand that are unique." Whilst I don't really look at Salon Petite as a 'brand' I guess it'd be fair to say I work pretty hard to deliver three things ...
• genuine gemstones, tested for authenticity;
• careful workmanship aimed at producing pieces that will last; and
• thorough product descriptions that honestly detail materials and dimensions in order to help my customers make informed decisions.

What else can I tell you about myself? Well, stylewise, I like French and American Art Deco in general and US Art Deco designer Miriam Haskell in particular. I'm also influenced by nature, my petite wife, and my three sparkling daughters. Unsurprisingly my style leans to the sort of designs they favour, typically, pieces that are delicate, understated, luxurious, and sparkling!

That's about it. I hope you enjoy looking at my work here as much as I've enjoyed making it. Thanks for visiting!

•:*¨¨*:•:,¸¸,:• ... hi
and welcome to Salon Petite, an Australian Etsy store featuring gemstone jewellery with an echo ... of art deco.

Our business philosophy here is pretty simple : to treat our customers as we expect to be treated when we are buyers. Consequently we take care to describe our listings in detail, truthfully and accurately, to pack items securely, and despatch them lightning fast!

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
  • Buy with Apple Pay
  • Pay with Sofort
  • Pay with iDeal
  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
All prices shown are in US dollars. For your security we only accept payment by PayPal or credit cards mediated by Etsy's 'Direct Checkout' system (meaning, your credit card details will NEVER be passed on to Salon Petite at any stage of your transaction).

All products listed at Salon Petite are in stock NOW - no waiting. Except for orders placed on weekends and rings that require resizing, we'll be despatching your order within 1-2 (business) days of placing it.
Shipping
Salon Petite ships to 23 countries worldwide. These include Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, United Kingdom and fourteen European Union nations (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland).

For Standard/Economy shipping please allow 12-20 days delivery time, less within Australia and 10 days more in December each year (due to the inevitable Christmas mail congestion!) For the rest of the year though, shipments with Australia take under a week on average. Post to west coast U.S States take around 10 days while 15 days seems to be the average to the U.S east coast and interior, and to Europe and the UK.

If you would prefer quicker shipping then an 'Express' post option is available at an extra charge ($us28.50 international, less for Australian deliveries). Shipping insurance is also available at your option. You can select this from as a 'shipping upgrade' during the checkout procedure.

Please Note : It's against the law for us to mark purchased items as gifts on a Customs Declaration Form or inaccurately declare their true value. Also, since we have no facility to pay Import/Customs duty on your behalf it remains YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to know your country's import taxes (if any), and to pay them. This applies especially to customers from the United Kingdom where Draconian import duties apply on jewellery purchases valued over £135. Sorry, but as is the case with 99% of internet purchases the buyer is responsible for any and all import duties, taxes, VAT, and other fees that may be incurred when importing items into their country.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you're not satisfied with the quality of your order please contact us through the Etsy 'Convo' mail system and we will work with you to resolve the problem.

Although we try hard to photograph honestly and write truthful, detailed product descriptions we appreciate that there are issues with buying jewellery online. At the least you're welcome to return your purchase within 5 days of receiving it, for a credit note, providing ...
(a) the item is in its original unused, unbroken condition; and
(b) you return the item via registered mail, at your expense.

If an item is returned your original shipping fee will be deducted from the refund. Also, if the return is a ring that’s been resized then a 20% fee will also be deducted from the original purchase price to offset labor and materials, since we won’t be able to resize it a second time (hence may never be able to resell it).

We offer refunds only in limited circumstances :
- if the item you bought is not of acceptable quality; or
- if the item you bought does not match the description we provided.
No refund is possible if you simply change your mind or if a ring sized to the specifications you gave us turns out not to fit or if the item is lost or damaged in transit.

~ Lost, Damaged & Missing Items

In the past five years we've consigned over 1100 shipments through Etsy and only one parcel has ever gone missing in the mail. It's given us a lot of confidence in people and promises, and in the world in general!

Nevertheless, PLEASE NOTE CAREFULLY : our liability for your purchase ends once we have despatched it. No refund, exchange or credit will be provided for deliveries that have been correctly addressed and despatched at our end, as documented. Insurance for loss or damage of goods during transit is however available at your option. You can select this from as a 'shipping upgrade' during the checkout procedure.
