    This headboard exceeded my expectations. The picture doesn't do it justice. My friend's have taken pictures and showed their friend's my bedroom. Samantha was very patient with me and helped me pick the perfect gray for my room. The only thing I would suggest is letting her know up front if you want the company to bring the headboard inside your apartment/home. I requested this service but it was much too late in the process and my order shipped without me having the opportunity to set that up. The shipping company also did not bring the right equipment to take the headboard off the truck ( not her fault). Once we finally got it off the truck, everything was perfectly fine. It comes very well packaged so there is no damage. It is very heavy and very sturdy. I absolutely LOVE my bed💕

Returns and exchange details
We stand behind the quality of our work and do our best to communicate with buyers, answer questions, and describe items and fabrics as accurately as possible- therefore, we do not accept returns or give refunds.
Our custom pieces are assembled and made of high quality materials however we do not have a lifetime warranty since the handling of items is out of our control once it leaves our workshop. Any issues with an order must be reported within 5 days from delivery and an arrangement for repair or replacement must be agreed upon no longer than 30 days from the date of report. Past that amount of time, we cannot be held responsible for any repair or replacement costs. If requesting a repair, we must be send a formal business invoice from the repair company, along with the phone number and a confirmation of when the repair is scheduled.

We do our best to replicate orders according to customers' specifications, but keep in mind that each piece will have it's own unique qualities and adjustments will be made if I find it necessary.
Orders are made according to the specifications on the listings or specifications given by customer: dimensions, fabric, shape, nailhead finish, backing, tufting style and measurements, etc. It is the buyers responsibility to notify me of any errors or changes that need to be made on the listings prior to purchase.
If there are particular areas of concern, i.e, dimensions or seam measurements**, these must be pointed out by the customer at the time of order. Refunds cannot be given for design elements that were not discussed at the time of order.

It is the customer's responsibility to measure doorways, hallways, wall space, stairways, etc to ensure that the headboard/beds will fit. Returns or exchanges cannot be accepted for size issues. All headboards (including wingback headboards) arrive in one piece- the height measurement on the listing is the total height in which it will arrive.
If for some reason a custom item does not fit, shipping and repair costs will be the customer's responsibility and all items must be shipped back in a box with proper packaging. The freight company is not responsible for repackaging.

*Refunds/cancellations can only be issued within 24 hours after an order has been placed since materials, particularly fabric, is ordered, which is non-returnable on my end.
Additionally, it is the buyers' responsibility to carefully read our shop policies and current lead time which is posted under shop announcements.
Thank you for understanding, since we are a small business we cannot be as lenient with refunds.

If any item needs to be returned, the item must be properly packaged (in a box) picked up for shipment within 5 days from the date of delivery. Beyond that length of time, refunds and/or replacements cannot be made* Once again, the freight company is not responsible for re-packaging and I am not responsible for the cost of packaging.

Orders cannot be shipped until all balances are paid in full. Due to limited space in our work studio, we cannot keep completed orders for more than 30 days past the date of completion. If balances/shipping invoices are left unpaid and the buyer has not communicated for a time period over 30 days, the item will need to be cleared out. Refunds or remaking of the item will be arranged as soon as buyer contacts shop owner.

Photos of fabric samples are available upon request but please keep in mind that colors may not appear as accurate and can vary depending on your computer monitor light setting, so I recommend requesting a mailed swatch if you are unsure of color. Additionally, dye-lots vary with all fabric and it is possible that a sample of the fabric can be slightly lighter or darker than the same fabric, but different bolt that is ordered for your custom design- Not a drastic difference in color but keep in mind this is out of my control. I cannot take returns based on color shade, so please ask questions if that is a concern.

Instructions and recommendations are given for fabric care and assembly (wall mounting or leg attachment). I stand behind my work 100% but I am not responsible if any issues should occur with assembly or damage once items are in the customers care.

We are not refunded by the freight company for delays or inconveniences therefore we cannot refund customers. We are only given an estimate on transit time and delays are completely out of our control. The third party company we work with gives clear instructions to freight carriers. **For headboards with additional height, the seam height will also increase. This is the portion of fabric sewn on the bottom to increase the width of the fabric (since fabric only comes in a certain width). The fabric can appear lighter or darker in shade below the seam (for velvet and microsuede fabrics).
The seam is generally hidden by the mattress and/or pillows, however if the height of this is a concern it must be brought to my attention before the order is placed.
Seam height on 55"-60" headboards is usually around 12"-16" tall. 65"-70" approximately 19"-24" tall, and 75"+ the seam will be 30" or more.
Payment
I accept both credit/debit cards and PayPal. Refunds cannot be given once a custom order has been placed, since materials, particularly fabric, are ordered, which are often non-returnable.
A deposit of at least half the order is due upfront, then the balance + shipping can be invoiced separately prior to shipment.
Shipping

Shipping includes basic freight, curbside residential delivery. The freight company will call a few days prior to schedule a delivery appointment, so if additional assistance is needed, please make special arrangements beforehand. Please inquire about additional cost for inside delivery, delivering up any flights or stairs which requires driver assistance or white glove services. These cost MUST be arranged and paid prior to shipment.
Please make sure you are present at the time of your scheduled delivery appointment to carefully inspect the boxes and refuse any box that looks like it is damaged in anyway. Failure to be present at the scheduled delivery time will result in a $100+ re-delivery fee which will be the customer's responsibility. A reconsignment fee of the same amount is also incurred for any address changes that are not noted prior to shipment. Such charges listed above will be invoiced directly to the customer. Please be advised that the freight company is not a white glove delivery service and is only required to deliver items either outside the residence/ “curbside delivery” which does not include going up stairs or elevators to apartment complexes or condominiums. If items need to be brought up a stairway or inside a doorway, please let me know before shipment that you require inside delivery (which costs $100-$300 additional), or please make arrangements to have someone present to assist upon delivery. Unless other arrangements are made, all deliveries are made by one driver and most of the time the entire pallet will be left. The beds and headboards are very large and heavy and costly to ship and I do not charge customer’s the full amount for shipping so please be mindful that I cannot be charged for such accessorial charges and I have no control over the way in which each shipment is delivered.
I cannot be held responsible if a customer is unable to get a shipment into their home, such arrangements must be made beforehand.


Please make sure you are present at the time of your scheduled delivery appointment. The freight carrier charges a $100+ re-delivery fee which will be the customer's responsibility. A reconsignment fee of the same amount is also incurred for any address changes that are not noted prior to shipment. Such charges listed above will be invoiced directly to the customer. The freight company also charges storage fees if items need to be kept at the terminal longer than 3 days with a maximum hold of 1 week. After 1 week, the freight company will need to ship the item(s) back to me and return shipping will be charged. ALL additional shipping fees both back and forth will in turn be invoiced to the customer. I am not responsible for these charges. Refunds for orders cannot be issued for failure to set up a delivery appointment with the freight company. Items cannot be shipped back to the customer until all freight charges are paid by the customer.

Insurance is included with the shipping quote and items are packaged thoroughly, however, I have absolutely no control over the handling of the shipments once they leave my care.
Returns cannot be made for size issues. All sizes of items are listed on custom orders. All headboards (including wingback styles) will arrive in once piece (wings attached). The height listed is the total height of the headboard itself, and most wingback sizes listed give the dimensions from the inside of the wings. If size is a concern, please measure all doorways, ceilings, and stairways before placing your order or inquire with me.
If the item does not fit inside at the time of delivery, the return shipping will be the customers' responsibility. I can work with you in adjusting the size of the item however all labor and return shipping costs must be paid by the customer before the item is sent back and the item must be properly packaged, inside a box. The freight company is not responsible for repackaging items.
Boxes MUST be inspected at the time of delivery. If there is damage to the outside of the box, the shipment must be refused upon delivery and not signed for free and clear, and damage must be notated by the customer and the freight driver, otherwise there is no guarantee of reimbursement on damage repairs/replacements or freight charges. I cannot be held responsible for any costs involved (freight or cost of goods) if a damaged shipment is not refused upon delivery.
When refused, the item will then be shipped back to me in which case the damage will be assessed and item(s) will either be repaired or replaced.
If the item is taken out of the box, it must be re-packaged and in a box before it is shipped back to me. The freight company is not responsible for re-packaging and I do not have resources for having items repackaged in other states.
If items are signed free and clear of damage upon delivery, any return shipping is then the customers responsibility.
I will work with you in replacing or repairing damaged items that were refused upon delivery in the most timely manner. Please be advised that I cannot issue any refunds until the claim has been settled and approved and I have been paid by the freight company, which can take anywhere from 30-120 days depending on the circumstances. Freight costs are non refundable.
CONCEALED DAMAGE can occur so it is very important to open shipments upon delivery and inspect items even if you do not plan to use the items right away. Concealed damage must be reported within 5 days of delivery, past that point a claim cannot be made. Additionally, concealed damage claims are never guaranteed and I cannot be held liable for any costs involved. Any item that needs to be shipped back must be repackaged by the customer. The freight company will not accept items that are not in a box. If original packaging materials are not kept for the return shipment, reimbursements cannot be made for the cost of return packaging.
I also need to be contacted right away with photos and specific details regarding the damage so that I can file the claim.
In some cases, local repairs are a better option than sending an item back. I must receive a quote and/or invoice from the repair company before issuing any refunds for repairs. Refunds for repairs cannot be given if a damage or issue is reported past 5 days from receiving the item. Thank you for your understanding.

Local pickup or delivery is available if you live in the Seattle area. Please be advised that we are not liable for any damage or shortage that should occur with local pickup whether it is the customer, a moving company, or another private party even if referred by Handcrafted by Samantha. Once the item(s) leave our workshop it is out of our hands however we will work with you in repairing any damages should they occur for additional cost.
Additional policies and FAQs
We strive for perfection in our work and do our best to replicate orders according to customer's specifications but keep in mind that each of our pieces will have it's own unique qualities. If a replication of a customer's photo is requested, we do our best to replicate according to the photo, however, any specific areas of concern, such as exact measurements, button size or spacing, etc., must be brought to our attention by the customer at the time of order. We cannot issue refunds for such details that are not mentioned beforehand.
Headboard shapes may look slightly different (elongated or wider) when ordering a different size than shown in my listings. On tufted styles, button spacing is also subject to change according to size.
All tufted pieces are made with 1" diameter buttons, unless another size is specifically requested by the customer. Other size available: 1/2" and 3/4". All other buttons are fabric covered.
Crystal buttons are $60 extra and must be specifically requested by the customer and noted on the listing. Please note that the term "Diamond Tufted" refers to the style of tufting and does not mean that diamonds/crystal buttons are used. A listing will say "Crystal Button Diamond Tufted" if crystal buttons are included on the item.
Fabric swatches can be mailed upon request. Please provide your first & last name, address, and fabrications or colors that you have in mind. Swatches are free of charge, however, if you request more than 4 swatches we just ask that they are returned once you have made a decision.
We can email photos of samples, but please keep in mind that colors are sometimes not as accurate on a monitor, so we recommend requesting a mailed swatch if you are unsure of color.
Additionally, dye-lots vary with all fabric, so it is possible that a sample of the fabric can be slightly lighter or darker than the same fabric ordered for your custom design- Not a drastic difference in color but keep in mind this is out of our control.
Fabric is also subject to it's own natural flaws and imperfections- varying textures or threads are common with many fabrics.
Fabrics are pre-treated for stain resistance, but please keep in mind that any fabric is sensitive to certain dyes that might come off of other fabrics that they come into contact with. Some dyes, including denim, often times cannot be cleaned no matter how durable a fabric might be. Returns or replacements cannot be made if this issue should occur. If fabric damage occurs, items can be reupholstered for a fee and all shipping charges are the buyer's responsibility.

If you prefer to mail your own fabric, we ask that you send a sample or description beforehand to make sure it will work with your headboard design.
**Please be advised that fabric is upholstered with the width/selvage running horizontally (along the top and bottom of the headboard). It is important to keep this in mind when purchasing patterned fabric.**
