Make all the things!

I grew up surrounded by so many different art forms. Both of my parents and my Step Mother have worked in the event industry. My mother was also an arts and crafts teacher at a local recreation center when I was very young. I pretty much grew up in an event planning wonderland. As a child it definitely felt like wonderland. Flowers, props, beautiful furniture, decorations, art panels, back drops, gorgeous fabrics/linens. When I turned 18 I started working there cleaning and ironing linens. I moved through the departments learning all I could from everyone I could and was very drawn to the scenic department. This is where all of the props, backdrops, and custom furniture dreamed up by other people's imaginations come to life. I ran the the scenic department for 8 years. In 2018 I stepped down and relocated to Los Angeles to focus on my own work and take on some set shop work for film and television.
I opened this shop in 2012 with my friend Samantha Taylor, we wanted a place where we could create and share what was in our imagination, and see where our creativity would lead us. We are two very different girls with unique viewpoints and talents. After 3 years of sharing an Etsy shop, we decided to make a second shop and each run our own shops separately. This decision was made because our shop was a bit... confusing with the different styles and types of items. Samantha was also moving to the East coats. We still collaborate, encourage and support each other to push ourselves to the next level and try new things!
Several years deep into this adventure and are still constantly surprised with new paths to take and opportunities to explore our crafts! I just love creating things that people enjoy. I am truly honored that anyone would want to live with something I created.

My name is Jennifer Dodge, thanks for taking the time to look around my shop. All of my pieces are labors of love, be it mixed media, original art, home decor or one off creations. I have a lot going on in my head, that results in a wide variety of pieces waiting for you to discover!

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
If there is ever an item that you are unsure is going to work for you please ask us any questions you have about the item before purchasing it. What we charge for shipping is less than the cost for us to ship it.

Returns and/or Exchanges on listed items (non custom orders):
The buyer is to be responsible for the shipping cost both ways for returns and exchanges. For exchanges the buyer is additionally responsible for any additional cost/price difference of new merchandise and the shipping cost of the new merchandise. All items shipped back to us must be insured for the purchase price in case of damage in transit. The cost of the product would be refunded (or applied to an exchange) to the buyer only once we receive the merchandise back to us without damage. Some forms of payment take several days to be credited back to your account. If damage occurs to the package and merchandise in transit back to us, you will need to make an insurance claim to receive your purchase price back from the shipper. SamjenArts will not issue a refund on merchandise received back in damaged condition. So please be sure to properly insure AND package your returns. Insurance claims can be denied by the shipping company if items are not well/safely packaged.

Custom Orders:
We do not accept returns on custom orders. We take great care to make sure your custom order is exactly what you want before we ship it to you. We work with our clients to get the product to the desired specifications and send a series of photos of the finished product for approval. Once approved the item will ship. If a custom order is damaged in shipping, we will submit a damage claim to the carrier. This process would require us providing your contact information to the carrier (including a phone number for them to reach you). The carrier will then pick up the original package with all of the packing materials and the item for inspection. Once the inspection is done and deemed "damaged in shipping" by the carrier we will replace the item.

Please contact us with any questions on what qualifies as a custom order or any other questions regarding returns.
All items are shipped ground unless otherwise stated. Please see individual listings for more shipping information and price.
If your address is not serviced by USPS and/or FedEx or live in a special service area, please contact us BEFORE purchase. Shipping prices listed my not apply. This is most common for islands and rural destinations.

International shipments are sent first class USPS. All international shipments are processed by customs, this may cause delays in your shipment. We have no control over how long international packages take to be delivered. Even if the package is cleared by customs they can hold it up to 30 days. The buyer is responsible for all import/duty fee that may apply. Please contact your local customs office about what fees may apply to you. These fees are not included in the purchase price, nor billed by us.

​If you are local in Southern California and would like to avoid shipping fees, arrangements for you to pick up your items can be made available. Pick up orders still require the lead times listed. Once your items are ready we will contact you to set up a time you can come pick up your items. Pick up orders do not come packaged in shipping boxes, but will be wrapped for safe transport.
