I searched and searched for a peapod outfit for my grandson's Halloween costume per his mother's request. He will be two months old at Halloween and his five-year-old sister will have a princess costume, think 'The Princess and the Pea'. This one is perfect. He's big baby so I easily made it a little longer. I think that I will have yarn left over (oh, no! my 'stash' is big enough!) so I will make hats for mommy and extended family so they can all be part of the 'patch'.

The pattern is kind of hard to follow. I contacted the seller to get an explanation and it still wasn’t explained well. I used a different pattern for the booties and the hat. I had to alter the bodysuit but it turned out pretty cute.

While all the stitches you will use to create this item are a beginner level, there are a couple of places that push this pattern into intermediate. The increased difficulty (tail and claws) are due to the lack of instructions and photos to help clarify how to get the desired outcome. There were also a couple of typos. Rating 2 stars based on the lack of clarity at critical points in the pattern, lack of photos, and typos - especially given the age of this pattern and the prior feedback, the seller has had years to make corrections/additions but instead continues to sell this pattern as is. I do want to include the positive: the way the claws are constructed are pretty genius. If I had to do over again, I would rebuy this pattern as I wasn’t detoured by the lack of clarity. Also, buyer was responsive to my question.
