Announcement   Hi I’m Sarah Leu! (rhymes with kookaburra poo). Welcome to my magical, maniacal, neurotical, funical place where my 4-year old and grown-up brains mash up and it comes out as one art form or another.

It’s part therapy and part silly nonsense, all wrapped up in my deep desire to inspire others through art, humor and Kegel-squeezing koala bears.

For the long story, click your digitus secundus on my "about" link.

You rock - thanks for stopping by!

Loved this print! Sarah was gracious enough to send 2 since she wasn't sure which one she liked better. I kept the matte one and gave the glossy as a gift to my friend who is an avid Etsy user! I have it hanging in my kitchen..looks great!!

About

Truth and Silliness

She is 4-years old and her name is Sarah Leu. She is a passionate, carefree spirit with slop on her shirt and dried egg on her face. She has no filter and is full of honesty. Her giant heart is soft and squishy like an 80 pound marshmallow but it loves as hard as boulders. She is a silly ever-so-curious-mind-changer who daydreams constantly and has zero attention span, but with this kind of mind comes creative superpowers. She dances to the beat of her own ipod, talks in funny voices and writes goofy words that make goofy sentences. She fidgets, dresses mis-matchy, and picks her nose without a care in the world what other people think. She is surprising and sparkles unpredictably. Inspiring others and making people giggle are the fuel for her soul's gas tank. She is grateful, happy and confident with who she is and owns it 4-year old style.

Grown-Up Self is also a passionately creative girl with egg on her face (and occasionally found embedded in her cleavage or smeared upon her rarely-washed yoga pants) but bullies Sarah Leu with her anxiety-ridden hooligans including but not limited to: fear, insecurity, extreme procrastination, OCD, overstimulation shut-down, disordered eating patterns, panic attacks, decision making paralysis, impulsiveness, difficulty concentrating, being very hard on herself and not feeling good enough. Sarah Leu tries so hard to run away but The Bully is also a persistent perfectionist with a dark and twisted sense of humor. She cackles with evil glee each time she pulls Sarah Leu into the unmarked white van she named "The Dark Side". Running away wasn't working. The little tyke must go face-to-face with her neurotic nemesis.

She put on her size 4T karate chopping ruffle pants and skull cap and instantly felt tough like beef jerky. She met Grown-Up Self in the playground at 3:67 after her favorite class at Imagination Camp, "How To Survive and Thrive With Your Head In The Milky Way". She filled her little lungs with a deep breath, grit her baby teeth and proceeded to pull Grown-Up Self's hair and stomp on her big toe. REAL hard. Then she finished her off with a swirly in the camp outhouse.

The Wack Job and her wet head finally backed off so Sarah Leu could be her authentic self and fearlessly use her creative superpowers. The Bully still has the guts to show up on a regular basis but Sarah Leu pounds her wee chest and yells in her chipmunk voice, "You wanna another piece of this?!?" and The Bully motors her hairy legs back to therapy. Meanwhile, Sarah Leu gets her mouth washed out with soap for all the pottymouthness she spits out at her nemesis, but proudly smirks as Palmolive bubbles drip from her chin because she won.

"I WANT ALL THE CAKE NOW!!! " she hollers.

Welcome to the imagination station of Sarah Leu, the place where my 4-year old and grown-up minds collide and make a kerpow sound. That's when the creative bomb detonates in the shape of art and expression and the form of truth and silliness.

I super hope my truth and silliness will make you smile.

And maybe even help you to find yours.
