Announcement   I specialize in throwing functional dinnerware and bottles out of clay on a potters wheel. My pottery is online at www.sarahsunshinepottery.com. I have small bottles perfect for tinctures, moonshine, mead, and more; as well as mugs, cups, plates, bowls and pitchers.
I threw each of these bottles, plates, pitchers, bowls, mugs, etc. at the community clay studio in Black Mountain, NC where I am blessed to spend a lot of my time.
Please contact me if you are interested in special orders, bulk bottles, doing a registry, or commissioning anything from a full dinnerware set to a special mug.
The process of throwing pottery begins with wedging clay, throwing each form on a wheel, letting it dry, trimming each pot, drying it until it is bone dry, then firing the piece in a kiln until it is bisqued, glazing it, and firing it again! By now, the small lumps of clay have become stoneware! Each piece is microwave and dishwasher safe, free of lead or other toxins, and ready to be used. Enjoy and please go to www.sarahsunshinepottery.com

Hello! I am so glad to share this pottery with you. I have been attracted to clay and pottery ever since I can remember but have rarely had the opportunity to work with it. This past fall I found the community clay studio in Black Mountain, NC and came alive throwing clay on a wheel. I can only use the studio when there are open hours, which is about ten hours a week, so I throw whenever I can and the rest of the time I work as an "eco-chaplain" providing pastoral support for environmentalists, and as a barista.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
  • Money Order
  • Check
  • Other Method
Payment
Paying with paypal is the quickest and easiest option for me because the payment goes through immediately and then I can ship out your order. You do not need a paypal account to pay this way as far as I know, just use a credit card or visa debit.

If you really want to pay with a money order or a check, that is fine by me as well, however I will only send your pottery once the check has arrived and cleared. If you make an order and say you are paying with a check, I will wait one week for it to arrive and if it does not I will re-post the item again for sale.

You have the rest of the same business day you make an order to cancel it if you need to. I will mail all orders the day after they are made, so if you realize you need to cancel something the same day you bought it, just let me know by e mail asap.
Shipping
For all orders in the US, Canada and Mexico, I use the flat rate priority mail boxes from the US Postal Service. The price of shipping reflects my guess if items need to be in a medium or large box, and insurance. I ship the day after an order and delivery should be in 2-3 days. If you are making multiple purchases, such as six mugs or three bowls, let me know and I will repost your order just for you as one item so that it will adjust the shipping rate to reflect what it will actually cost to send to you.
Also, if ever possible I will hand deliver your pottery so you don't have to pay for shipping costs.
Refunds and Exchanges
Pottery is fragile and as such I insure all packages that I ship. If your item is broken in any way, the postal service will refund this item for you. Enclosed in your box is a receipt, give this to the post office as soon as you can, with your box and pottery.

I do not do refunds. If you are not happy with the color, size, shape of your piece you can exchange it with another one with me, or use the credit towards another piece, however, you have to pay for the postage both ways.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am open to doing custom orders and love the idea of creating dinnerware sets and any specific pieces for you. Throwing pottery and firing the kiln takes time, so custom orders may take a month or more to be completed. If you are interested, please e mail me sarahsunshine at gmail dot com and we can begin the process.

Also, if you are interested in a bulk order of bottles or jugs, contact me and we can work out pricing, timing, size, shape, color, etc.
