Hello and welcome! This past year has been a busy one making pottery out of our home based workshop here in southern Colorado. We want to thank all of our customers who made a commitment to buy from small businesses during the upheaval of the last year and a half. It truly had an impact and our little pottery shop has grown! We hope you and those you love are well and safe for the holidays and beyond.
I have many IN STOCK items and am always making more. If there is an item that is listed as sold out please contact me, there is a good chance that I am making more. I also encourage gift certificates, recipients can choose which style they want or use it as credit to an entirely different item. Please go to "Gift Certificate" section of my store - I can also do custom gift certificates, send me a conversation. It is now easy to add gift wrapping ($4.50) or a gift message (gratis) to the order. All pieces are 100% made in my workshop, glazed with my own glazes, and fired by me. All my pottery is lead and cadmium free, microwave and dishwasher safe. I never use commercial glazes, third party bisque ware or commercial molds. I am happy to do Express service on any purchase just send a conversation and I will quote you the extra shipping charges. Please note that although priority mail is reliable ,unlike Express mail, it is not guaranteed.
I also have another Etsy store, COPITAS DE MEZCAL, which features bar ware: pints, shot glasses, copitas, whisky glasses, jarritos de barro, tapa dishes, nesting bowls and more! Check it out at: www.etsy.com/shop/copitasdemezcal

4 out of 5 starsIt's very pretty and exactly what I needed. A tad bit lopsided which I realize is just the reality of a handmade pot this small. Great for putting little flowers my daughter picks 🌸

5 out of 5 starsSuper cute! Perfect for flowers my daughter picks for me from the yard! Also was so excited to find out that they are lead and cadmium free, after my husband accidentally ran it through the dishwasher with baby bottle parts! So glad the item is made with safe materials!

5 out of 5 starsI love love love it! The color is just so beautiful and the size was perfect. I bought it as a gift for my husband so he can put his wedding ring in it while he showers and he says it’s perfect. He really likes it. The quality was better than expected.

5 out of 5 starsThe mug I ordered as an anniversary gift for my husband arrived quickly, and was packaged safely. I hated tearing open the wrapping on the mug itself, but I wanted to see it before he opens it. I can't wait to give it to him!

Sarah Welch Pottery
I was first introduced to ceramics through a year long apprenticeship with a traditional master potter in Vienna, Austria. After studying art in Austria and California, I earned my BFA in ceramic/sculpture at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Since graduating I have shown my sculptural and functional work both nationally and internationally. I enjoy making pottery, where I find the fusing of beauty with function an inspiring challenge. The long tradition of pottery and its intimate place in daily life inform the artistic choices I make for my pieces. My goal for my pottery is to have the pieces used not only for the way they look, but also the way they feel. All my work is hand crafted by me, including the glazes. I have my workshop next to my husband’s , instrument maker Michael Schraud (check out www.rbidrums.com and www.kumbengokoras.com). We feel blessed to be located in the beautiful San Luis Valley in Jaroso, Colorado. We both sell our work through galleries, art/craft shows, the web, and directly from our workshops. I welcome special orders and new challenges.
