Hand Dyed Fiber & Yarn, Handspun Yarns & More!

I'm a Stay at Home Mom who loves to spin yarn, dye fiber & yarn, knit, and crochet.

I opened Sarandipity Handmade in April of 2012. Each item in my shop has been carefully handcrafted by me, with love, to inspire you and bring you joy. I know creating each item in my shop has brought me lots of joy!

A little of my crafting history - I've been crocheting since 2007 and knitting since 2009. I began spinning yarn at the end of 2012, after the purchase of a drop spindle and then a short time later a spinning wheel in 2013. I began dyeing fiber and yarn in 2014. I love yarn and all it's potential.

Everything is made in my smoke free, pet friendly (2 cats, 1 dog, 2 children) home. All dyeing is done in small batches in my kitchen. When possible, I try to use locally (Northeast/NY) produced fiber.

I'm a Stay at Home Mom and Wife. I love to hand spin yummy yarns, dye yarns and fiber, knit and occasionally crochet. I love taking white yarns and fiber, giving them color and the potential to become something new in the hands of a knitter!

Frequently asked questions
Why is handmade so expensive?

It takes time. Yes, there's the cost of supplies but it's also the time it takes to set up, do the work, tear down, clean up. A factory can take minutes, but a home based business - you're paying for a single persons time, energy & their love for the craft that goes into every item.

For a bag, it can take about 2 hours to make one - ironing the fabric, measuring twice (no mistakes!), cutting, interfacing and ironing, quilting, pinning, stitching seams, trimming threads, adding zippers, winding bobbins, boxing corners, checking for loose threads, photographing, photo editing...this is on top of the cost of fabric, interfacing, thread and zippers.

If you want cheap - go to a big box store, but if you want quality - handmade all the way!
