Gentle and strong. It is a piece I will wear forever (as far as I can know now). I'm moved by it. Grounded by it. And protected by it. Thank you. I love it.

About

When I moved the metal for the first time

My love of metalsmithing began in 2006 when I first forged a piece of sterling wire with a hammer. I was obsessed with learning as much as I could about making jewelry from that point. I read every book I could get my hand on.

In High School I wanted to learn how to make jewelry, but the only option that I could see was trade school training for a bench jeweler. My father wanted us all to have a formal education, so I studied classical singing. (I know another very practical field).

I had wanted to leave an adjunct teaching position to spend more time with my newborn son, and calculated that I just needed to earn a few hundred dollars a month to be able to stay at home with him. So I took a leap of faith and hit the ground running. I sold my jewelry in home shows, churches, and began my etsy shop in 2007.

I joined Etsy Metal and made many great friends in that group. I owe them for all the advice and encouragement they have given to me. I learned how to take pictures with my canon elph, market my stuff, and make things that sell so that I can afford to do the art I love to do.

The next year I was a featured artist on etsy and my sales exploded over the next year. I have been working around the clock to manage my business since 2006. I still love making jewelry. Being in the studio helps me connect my racing mind with my body.

As a self taught metalsmith, I make jewelry that I want to wear everyday. My father, a painter and antique dealer, taught me that I could do anything if worked hard enough. I am formally trained as a classical singer and I teach voice lessons daily.

I feel compelled to ornament the human experience with constructs of my imagination. I see beauty in clean lines and in quiet and reflective pieces. The moon, shrouded in mystery, is a constant source of inspiration and the pieces I create resonate with the deepest parts of my inner self, which no words can express.....Custom orders welcome.

http://etsymetal.com, http://sarawestermark.blogspot.com,

My style has been defined as industrial chic crossed with organic. My shop features my original designs hand fabricated by me in sterling silver, copper, gold, pearls, champagne diamonds, precious & semi-precious gemstones. Some pieces are made to order, so please allow 3 days+ lead time to shipping.

I have always worked with my hands. It quiets my racing mind and helps me to connect with my inner self. When I work, I cannot concentrate on anything else but the task at hand--I am completely absorbed. Sometimes pieces come to me in my dreams--as if they have already been worked out for me. I try to have enough time to keep producing the ideas that I have stored in my head. I keep a notebook with me to sketch my thoughts. My sketches are very crude probably because my formal education is as a classical singer (although my dad was a painter--check it out at www.patriciaherbertgalleries.com and look for Jim Graham). My dad died nearly 4 years ago now. I know that he would love to see how I have pursued my artistic dreams. I have my master's degree in voice performance and I still perform locally in addition to teaching private voice lessons.

Payment
PAYMENT--I accept paypal and money orders only--but prefer paypal. Items are promptly shipped in the order that the payment is received. Some items are custom or made to order and will have a 3 day+ lead-time to the shipping. If your paypal payment is not received by 3 days (money order 10 days) after the sale, I reserve the right to cancel the sale. Thanks for understanding!
Shipping
STANDARD SHIPPING I ship to the address stated on etsy. Please be sure that you list the correct address there, because it takes too long for me to verify all the addresses with your paypal account. I ship United States Postal Service first class through endicia. Endicia allows me to give you a tracking number, so that we are better insured against loss should your package go missing. I am not responsible for loss, theft or damage of your package due to shipping errors. If you would like upgrade to priority, add delivery confirmation, or add insurance, please let me know via convo or email and I can invoice you for the balance of these services at cost. Orders during the work week (Monday through Friday) typically ship within 24 hours from time of verified payment unless they are custom or made to order pieces that require lead time. During times of high volume, sometimes orders can take up to 3 days to process.

SHIPPING UPGRADES
Delivery Signature--$.85
Upgrade to Priority---$3 US & $6 International
Registered---$8 US & $15 International (comes with automatic $45 insurance)
2nd Day Air by USPS---$17 US (domestic only)

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
I will now have cheaper shipping through Endicia for international post. The most secure way to ship international is upgrading to priority or registered. It is not uncommon for international orders to take 4-6 weeks to arrive from the states and this depends on your countries customs. All of my packages so far have arrived safely at their destination with first class USPS.

CUSTOMS, IMPOUNDING, VAT
I am not responsible for any extra fees or impounding from customs on international orders. I am also not responsible for any taxes the item incurs due to customs or VAT. Please be sure of your countries' customs policies regarding jewelry before ordering.

***Shipping to Singapore and Italy are very tricky because of the strict nature of their customs regarding jewelry.
Refunds and Exchanges
Items may be returned no later than 7 days from when you received the package for store credit. Returned items must be in the same condition in which they arrived to you and shipped back to me at your cost with insurance and in the same packaging (i.e. gift box and bubble mailer). NOTE: EARRINGS AND HOOPS ARE non-refundable due to the sanitary reasons. All returned items are subject to a restocking fee of 15%. I will then refund cost of the piece with in-store credit but not the shipping charges. Please read the listing description because some items may appear larger on the screen. I have tried my best to be as accurate as possible. If you do not understand something in my listings, I invite you to convo and ask questions.

EXCEPTION for CUSTOM ORDERS- I do not accept returns on custom orders because I cannot resell them do to their very specific nature.
