I grew up bilingual - English and American Sign Language (ASL). ASL is my first language. My parents and one set of grandparents are Deaf. I can hear. I want to combine the two languages to make it fun and easy for people to learn both languages. I design "moving" ASL (American Sign Language) cards made with lenticular graphics. They are kind of like holograms. Tilt the cards back and forth. It looks like the person is moving in the card - showing you how to make the sign. Its a fun way to learn some basic signs in ASL. I have greeting cards, baby sign flashcards and posters. The poster and flashcards are a great baby shower gift and perfect for pre-school classes learning sign language.

Recently I have been creating surface pattern designs. Most of these include the ASL "I Love You" hand embedded in the images. I put the designs on socks, mugs, pillows and more coming. I'm really enjoying this part of my art work lately. My designs can also be printed on fabrics - go to spoonflower.com/profiles/marykane to see all the fabric designs. I also do watercolor paintings. The "I Love You" coffee card is one example of my watercolor paintings.

My mom also has an Etsy store - IreneKaneArt. She has been painting since she was 14 years old. She mostly does acrylics or oils of landscapes and seascapes. She is my inspiration.

You know .... its really just fun to have an Etsy store. I love adding and sharing what I create and I especially love it when people enjoy my artwork.
