About

Featured in the Fall 2016, Fall 2015, Fall and Summer 2012 issues of Prims Magazine and June 2013 issue of Your Cat Magazine!

I've been creative ever since I was a child! My current creative venture began in 2005 when I became obsessed with anything grungy, antiqued or extreme primitive. Combine that with my love of American history and collecting antiques and Scaredy Cat Primitives was born. Previously, I had made candles and soaps and also jewelry when I was in high school. After the candlemaking hobby exploded a few years ago, I decided it was time to try a new adventure. I was yearning for a way to express my love of old, chipped, rusty and grungy things into art. I have always had a soft spot for the old, well-loved things I stumble across at flea markets and estate sales that often get looked over because they are not in pristine condition or worth top dollar. I always end up rescuing these treasures! To me, they tell far more of a story than the same thing in perfect condition. That is what I hope to bring to my art.

My art comes from a smoke-free home and must pass inspection of my three finicky felines, Ellie, Saki and Simon.
