My chestnut, red haired Mare...

When I decided to make a business of my jewelry making, I wanted to have a name that was thoughtful and meaningful to me. I had a lovely mare named 'Sugar' and she was a chestnut red haired girl with a flaxen mane; Scarlet Mare! I bought her on my 50th birthday. I had only started riding horses at age 47!
In this new life with horses, I made a new friend who encouraged me to follow my passion for color and design and to embark on the adventure of jewelry design. And so 'Scarlet Mare Studio' was officially born in the summer of 2012.

I love making eclectic, unusual jewelry. I am always striving to create new techniques and find new ways of creating little pieces of wearable art. I use only high quality materials and I pay a lot of attention to detail in each of my designs...."love is in the details!".

Working with colors and textures is truly a passion. I enjoy mixing things up and using unusual materials together. It's all about creating the unexpected and adding beauty and fun to the look of the wearer of my jewelry.

I hope to continually evolve as an artisan and make jewelry that others will enjoy having for many years. It brings me great joy when a customer claims that one of my pieces "spoke to them"! I consider each creation that I make to be "my little baby" as I spend alot of time, thought and care in creating each piece and I want them all to find happy homes. I also love to photograph flowers, as you will find on my Instagram page. Flowers love color just as much as I do!

Enjoy your browsing and please share with others and I thank you for supporting a small artistic business! <3
