Note from shop owner Our studio is being renovated. I am around to answer any questions by email but will probably not be able to create new orders until November. Big sigh. Celebrate the day! Let Scarlett Dalila show you the way (when the dust settles.) Thanks for stopping by our shop!

If I had to describe these items... it would be sheer PERFECTION. This seller knows how to cut and shape these items. The flower is GORGEOUS. Heart is amazing... each bit of pizzazz was cut to perfection.

These were amazing. Couldn't believe what was in the sweet little bag. They were generous in size and exactly what they should look like! Stuck PERFECTLY and easily on the crown!

Was thrilled that the crown CAME with a "dash of pizzazz"! AND amazed at how simply they designs came on and off the crown! I love this crown! I love how it was crafted, how it looks, its size, and the adjustable velcro! My little nephew shared it with his big cousin!

About

Celebrate the day! Let Scarlett Dalila show you the way.

At Scarlett Dalila Felt Better, we use 100% wool yarn, knit it and then throw it into the washing machine where it turns into thick felt. I started making bags and purses. The crowns came about when a rectangle for a purse shrunk too much in the washing machine. It fit perfectly around my head and voila the felt crown was born. Velcro sticks directly to the felt. This makes the crowns fully adjustable so they fit just about anyone. It also allows the wearer to become Queen or King of Whateverland. One day you can be a Flower Princess and the next day, the Queen of Hearts. Just swap the flower decoration for a heart and put it anywhere on the crown. They are great for birthdays as well. The numbers can be changed as the years go by. I sell many different decorations, forevermore known as dashes of pizzazz, for the crowns. You can truly be a king or queen of anything!

I started Scarlett Dalila when I suddenly became a single mom. I had always just wanted to be a 1950′s housewife and mother. I needed a new path! Since I grew up in Michigan on what could be called a farm but wasn’t, working with wool is like going home. We had sheep, goats, rabbits, quail, dogs, cats, and a ferret. We also had three McDonalds and a Meijer within a 2-mile radius. I took horseback riding lessons and wore some pretty outrageous outfits at the county fair while showcasing my “skills”. I was in the 4H club and was elected secretary because all of the boys thought it was a girl’s job. The name of my first sheep was Black Beauty. There is nothing like the feel and sound of boots squishing in the spring mud. Just thinking about it makes my heart flip. I’m pretty sure some fairies lived there too. I’m sure they still do.

One of our missions is to crown the world one head at a time. I love how the crowns evolved from a mistake and look forward to many more surprises!

Celebrate the day!

Can you make a crown in a color I don't see in your shop with a decoration I don't see either? Yes! We love custom orders. Please contact us with with your requests.

Hey, your name is Shoanna. Who is Scarlett Dalila and why does she feel better?
Yes, my name is Shoanna Catherina. Scarlett Dalila was the name of my first Cabbage Patch Kid. I absolutely loved the name and always wanted to have a real Scarlett Dalila. Instead, I have a Jackson Edward and a Vivian Louise. That is just who they were. So when looking for a name for my shop, I remembered a name that I loved but hadn't used yet. Scarlett Dalila Felt Better was born......again. She feels better because everyone feels better when wearing a crown! Plus it was a play on the word felt, since the crowns and bags are made of felt. But you probably already figured that part out. I still have the original Scarlett Dalila. She is as cute as ever. (Thanks mom for saving all the good stuff!)

Why the skull and crossbones? And are those flowers growing around the bones?
I have always been fascinated with skull and crossbones. Perhaps I was a pirate in a previous life. Sometimes knitting and felt can be thought of as grandma-y-ish. I wanted to make my stuff a little edgy. Cool. Something a little hipster would want to wear. So to balance out the grandma-y, I added the skull and crossbones. And yes those are flowers growing around the bones. Because the skull and crossbones may be thought of as a little "dark" by some, I wanted to lighten it up a bit. Add a soft side to the dark edginess. I want to be sweet and spicy all at the same time. It also shows that out of darkness there can be light. Flowers need light. So turn on the light.

Email any questions I haven't answered and I'll do my best.
