About ScentedEssentials

On Etsy since 2013

I'm just doing what I love!

A little bit about myself and Scented Essentials:

I began this journey without knowing and/or anticipating starting my own little business. What started all of this is ...lip balm. I know right, how did home fragrance come from lip balm? I’ve tried every balm under the sun and nothing worked. So I made it my goal to source my own ingredients and make it myself. During this, I found that I really enjoyed making my own products. Candles were next on my list to try and then I quickly realized this is what I love to do. I’ve put many, many, many hours into testing, perfecting, designing, making, promoting, posting, networking, etc. Scented Essentials officially went into business April of 2016 and can be found in 5 locations, numerous local events/markets & online. Never did I imagine life would take me this direction but I am loving every second.

Frequently asked questions
How long do your candles burn?

When burned properly:

3.5 oz Jar: 30+ hours

7 oz Jar: 50+ hours

Should I trim my wick between every burn?

This is tricky. Yes & No.

Wicks *should* be trimmed to 1/4 inch before each relighting. In some cases, the wick will not need trimmed between burns. Trim the wick if you notice it looking larger than it should. What you see is carbon buildup meaning your wick needs trimmed. This tends to happen when your candle has been burning for extended periods of time. If your wick seems 'out of control' it most likely just needs trimmed. Simply blow out, let cool, trim, relight & enjoy! To achieve the best performing and longest lasting candle, it’s always good practice and habit to trim your wicks between every burn.

Soy Candle Instructions

Always read the warning label at the bottom of the candle before using.

Soy wax has a memory and the first burn is the most important to achieve the best performing and longest lasting candle. Allow candle to burn long enough so there is an even pull of melted wax each time. (Fun fact: the diameter of each candle equals hours to full melt pull.) This will help insure a better scent throw and a long lasting, clean burning candle.

Before each relighting, always trim your wick to 1/4 in. Hint —> The height of the wick when purchased, should be the height of the wick throughout the lifetime of the candle.

How long will the hanging air freshener scent last?

The fragrance will last for several months depending on use, fragrance, and exposure.

Warm environments make the aroma beads give off a higher scent throw. In other words, this may cause the fragrance to exhaust itself faster.

Soy Melt Instructions and Recommendations

Always read the warning label before melting. Use ONLY in tea-light warmers or UL listed electric warmers approved for wax melts.

Clamshells: We recommend using 1-2 cubes in your wax warmer at a time, depending on the size of the room you are filling.

Mini Melts: We recommend using the entire melt for larger warmers or simply cut in half for 2x the use in smaller warmers. (Soy wax is very soft and can easily be cut)

TIP: Use 2-4 cotton balls to soak up wax after fragrance has exhausted. Easy cleanup!
