Welcome to Schermo Beads!

schermobeads is taking a short break.

I'll be returning to Etsy very soon, with some really fun new stuff, a couple of new categories, and some destash from my overcrowded Bead Room! Please check back to see what new items I've got up on Etsy!

Original Lampwork Glass Beads made by Ann Scherm Baldwin

Who am I?
I am Ann Scherm Baldwin - often called "Schermo" by my friends and dozens of complete strangers I've met on the internet. I am a lampworker, a jewelry artist, a beadmaking instructor, and an eclectic dabbler with many creative pursuits and a strange sense of humor.

You have probably realized by now that I make glass beads. But here in my etsy shop, at any given time, you may also find zany glass bugs, fabric banners, collage jewelry, glass & fiber jellyfish I've made, as well as tiny treasures, sparkly bits and odd things that I've collected over the years.

I like to think of myself not so much as a hoarder, but as an accumulator. And some of this stuff, I swear, must have snuck in when I wasn't looking. Every now and again, I try to destash, so you might just find some awesome STUFF here. (Everybody needs more STUFF, right? Especially awesome STUFF.)

Okay, and now the "serious" part (to assure you that yes, I really AM a professional):
I am a self-representing artisan, which means you are buying glass beads that have been individually created by one person, me, in my home studio. I have twelve years experience in making glass beads, and I stand behind the quality of all my work - my beads have been kiln annealed for strength and durability, to last a lifetime. My jewelry is made with great attention to detail and quality components.

For more information on me, how glass beads are made, and even how YES! You too could learn to make Glass Beads!, please visit my personal website:

Feel free to convo me if you have any questions, concerns or funny stories.
Thanks for stopping by!
