About

Jewelry inspired by science

I started this shop because I wanted to share my love of science with everyone. When I learn about the intricacies of natural phenomenon, such as how a fossil was created, or why bismuth produces such brilliant rainbow hues, it makes that piece even more special and beautiful to me. I want to share this feeling with everyone who sees my jewelry.

As a a graduate student in biology, I learn new, amazing things about the world every day. My passion for sharing the beauty I see in the world through science motivates me to design beautiful jewelry out of materials such as fossils and seashells for fellow biology lovers, elemental metals for chemists, gemstones and minerals for earth science nerds, and electronic parts for engineers / technology geeks.

Butterflies have a special meaning to me because my Ph.D. research is investigating the evolution of butterfly wing color patterns and how wing color patterns influence behavior.

I design my jewelry with more than just beauty in mind - I think about the natural history background of everything I use and let the science inspire me. I take the time to research the materials I use and share cool, quirky science facts in my item descriptions so that you can appreciate it as much as I do.
