Great for off winding from large cones. If you do production dyeing, this is a must have for you!

Very nice for spinning thick or thin yarn. I bought 2 and need a couple more.

About

I Love to Make Things

I started this Shop to share the Hand-Hammered Shawl Pins that I was creating for my hand knit shawls. Those led to Beaded Shawl Pins, which I still do make today, which led to my bead stash, which shares a room with a knitting, weaving and spinning stash. Fortunately I'm married to a talented Woodworker that can make amazing Yarn Swifts and Fiber Tools.

I am crafty. From age four, when I pestered my Great Aunt Marie to teach me crochet, I've always loved to do things with my hands. I even had a small Macrame business in my teens - I think my Mom might actually still have some of the jewelry I made back then. Knitting, then spinning and weaving have been my mainstays and wanting to knit lace led to knitting shawls. One thing leads to another and fast foward to raiding my husbands workbench and asking for wire and a hammer and that is how my Shawl Pins came to be. Asking him to make me tools for knitting, spinning and weaving led to his part in Scotts Mountiain - I'm lucky to have such support and his swifts, nostepinnes and whorls are always getting rave reviews.

I always dreamed I'd be an artist and all my electives in school were art classes - drawing, painting, pottery even technical drawing - but I never felt I was talented enough. With metal and beads, I can "draw" what I want. I find my crafting and my jewelry goes through phases and I've finally given myself permission to go in any direction I want! Lately it's been adding Micro Macrame to the mix - I'm glad I had all that macrame time in my teens but this is so different! I'm loving it and I hope you'll find something here you love too.
