One of my earliest memories is of watching my grandmother at her easel painting a landscape onto a tiny little canvas no more than a few inches wide. Witnessing her create these miniature worlds was instantly fascinating to me and began my lifelong interest in art.

Many years later I now create my own miniature worlds. I make my 'paintings' by meticulously applying various colors of very fine glass enamel powder onto a canvas of copper using small brushes, then firing it in a kiln until the glass powder melts and fuses itself to the copper. The result is a very compact piece of art that can be worn as jewelry.

While creating tiny glass enamel paintings tends to satisfy my artistic side, my metal work tends to satisfy my craftsman side: my desire to build. The feeling I get while hammering, bending, cutting and shaping metal is that of creating order from chaos; construction from destruction. My metal pieces attempt to embody that feeling through the use of lines, shape, form and texture.

I hand make all of my pieces in Savannah, Georgia, using a variety of metal work and enameling techniques. I enjoy the process of creating each piece and also enjoy sending them out into the world to be enjoyed by others. Since all of my pieces are made from scratch with my own two hands, each one is unique and one of a kind.
