That's me wearing one of my pendants I couldn't bring myself to part with. :) I often wear two or three at a time.
Animal Stuff for Animal People: Hand Collaged Pet Themed Gifts That Benefit Animals In Need
I started Scrappy Rat Designs as a way to combine my love of animals with my other loves, writing and crafting. I wanted to provide pet lovers eye catching collaged jewelry as a way to share animal-positive sentiments. I want animal lovers to enjoy sharing their devotion with friends in unique and fun ways, from message pieces to my flutterkitten designs and more.
You can feel good about shopping at Scrappy Rat Designs because every single purchase benefits animal rescue. I donate at least 50% from the sale of every item in my shop which adds up pretty quickly, but there are also designated items you can find throughout the shop with up to 100% of their price donated to animal rescue/advocacy. How can you go wrong with that? One of those items is my Yummy for Dogs Cookbook for Canines! It's got nearly 100 pages of healthy, vegan dog treat recipes your dog will love!
Scrappy Rat Designs is the perfect place to find something special for the animal nut in your life, like your friend who takes her dog absolutely *everywhere*, or your vegan in-laws, your pet sitter who always goes above and beyond, the trainer who taught your dog to stop standing on the dining room table, your favorite vet who's always got a pocket full of cat treats, your sister who feeds a feral cat colony, or your boyfriend whose spare bedroom doubles as a shelter for foster rats he takes in from the city pound so her can find a special home for each and every one.
It's also full of things to indulge yourself in, and even some stuff to adorn your pets with. I hope you'll come in and browse. I'm always adding something new!
So, which charities do your purchases benefit? Every two months I choose an animal rescue or advocacy organization to raise donations for, via my sales during that period. See below for this month's group:
2021
March's charity was Chihuahua Rescue and Transport, who does fantastic work helping these little dogs through foster care and adoptions. They received $50.
January/February's charity was For the Love of Rats rescue who received $55 to help the small animals in their care.

Shop policies
What makes Scrappyrat Designs animal-friendly? It's always great to find positive images of pets of all kinds, including the ones often met with "ick" from the general public, but in addition to that, Scrappy Rat Designs regularly donates pendants, stationery sets, and gift baskets to auctions, sales, and other activities that benefit animals via rescue and advocacy. Plus, you can rest assured that all items produced by Scrappyrat Designs are made by an entirely plant-powered artist to produce fun items with an important message, while causing the least harm to animals and the environment possible. No animal products will ever be used to produce my creations.
I have a deep devotion to the art of postal beauty, as well as a tenacious love of animals. I have participated in the leisurely pleasure of letter writing since I was a child, and have participated in animal rescue and advocacy throughout my adult life. My goal is to combine the two in a way that makes them as meaningful to others as they are to me. I hope you will join me in this devotion by sending my little creations far and wide.
