The Pennsylvania landscape continues to enthrall painter Sean Bodley

Have you ever been struck by lightning? That was about how it felt crossing over from the flat Midwest to the ancient mountains of central Pennsylvania. I never thought I would love landscape painting but this area made an impression and now I can't get enough! I paint outside often (plein air painting) and also work on larger, more complicated pieces in my studio.

I believe the light in central Pennsylvania is unique because of its many micro-climates, rich atmosphere, and dynamic seasons. I founded my workshop Mount Nittany Studio on one of the iconic mountains in the area known as "Happy Valley." From here I voyage into the woods to study the "light envelope." Many inspirational artists reside in this area and it is a privilege to also teach art lessons to many different age groups. Aside from teaching, painting, and drawing I enjoy hiking with my dog Pippa and watching movies with my wife.

I am a pigment pusher who is in love with the Pennsylvania landscape. It really is an enchanted land of misty mountains, verdant forests, and wonderful atmosphere. I paint & draw constantly with hope that I can truly capture the light I see and feel.

Returns and exchanges
In the rare instance of artwork damaged in shipping, photographs must be taken of the damaged package before and after opening as soon as possible. This way I can determine whether or not the piece was damaged by USPS or a shipping error occurred on my part. I will pay for shipping to return the damaged piece and a full refund will be given upon the return of artwork.
I accept personal checks and PayPal transactions. If you would like to use a credit/debit card you can do so through PayPal.
I take a lot of care in transporting artwork and have professional art shipping and handling experience. I ship using USPS Priority Mail. Item Tracking, and Insurance are included on items valued over $100.00. Each customer will be emailed a tracking number when items are shipped so they may follow the progress of their item’s shipment.
