About

Better living through better Making!

I am a potter. I believe in the beauty of handmade objects.
I began working in ceramics over 14 years ago. What started as little more than a side hobby, slowly, but surely became my obsession and my profession. Nowadays, I spend every day in the studio, designing and making unique functional pottery . . and I love what I do!
It is my pleasure and my privilege to be a craftsman in this day and age of impersonal mass production and the hectic, non-stop pace of modern life. As a resident of Chicago I experience the pressure of that pace on a daily basis and its in my studio that I am able to brush-off the stress of traffic, congestion, power lunches, and the overwhelming din of the city. I am a lover of music, art, history, and of course . . . good food!
My pots are intended to be used everyday . . . . for sumptuous homemade meals, to savor deliciousness, and to indulge your eyes while you indulge your appetite. My choice of professions is a deliberate attempt at slowing down, connecting to something deeper, and taking time to appreciate the simple pleasures of rejoicing in work I find meaningful. I hope that you can share some of that experience through the work I create and take a moment for yourself to enjoy a moment of respite and calm with a piece of handmade pottery.
