About

Creating a handmade life.

Hello. I’m Anna and I’ve been making things my whole life. As a kid I spent hours dreaming, planning, and creating. Splashing in streams, making messes in the kitchen, stitching crooked lines, hosting tea parties in playhouses, printing my own magazine, building tree forts, and organizing home made carnivals and restaurants was how I filled so many days. There were some great successes and so many failures but the results were less important than the chance to discover what I could create.

I’ve never given up making things with my hands. I studied art in college and then followed my creative interests to small scale sustainable farming, dabbled in cheese making and baking, and settled into constant projects in the kitchen and at my sewing machine. Creating something tangible reminds me that I am not just an observer or consumer. It is the way that I put a bit of myself into the world, learn how things are made, and what really matters to me.

Currently, I live on the coast of southern Maine with my husband and two young children. I spend most days with my kids, encouraging their curiosity and creativity. With my little remaining time and energy, I find myself living out my creative dreams in small ways: cooking for my family and friends, writing as often as I can, sharing my knowledge as a master food preserver, tending a small plot of vegetables, and sewing things for my family and to share with you.

Shop policies

Last updated on November 22, 2011
All of my pieces are handmade and one of a kind. I think this makes them all the more precious and delightful, but it also means that they may have very slight irregularities and that I do not mass produce identical items.

I strive to be as earth friendly and sustainable as possible. Whenever I can I repurpose material and use organic fabrics. Since I try to use each piece of fabric as efficiently as I can, some items have slightly different shapes than others. My shipping materials are recyclable and I ride my bike to deliver them to the post office as much as I can.

Payment
I prefer payment through Paypal, but if you can only pay with a personal check contact me and I will try to work something out.
Shipping
All items will be mailed within 3 days of purchase via USPS. I can ship to anywhere, but international customers will be responsible for fees associated with customs, taxes or other costs.

I try to keep my shipping costs very low, so I currently do not include a tracking number, insurance or delivery confirmation. I am open to including these as needed or to increasing my shipping costs slightly in the future to provide better shipping service.

I am happy to send gifts and can do very simple gift wrapping if you ask.

If you are sending items to addresses other than what is on your etsy account, please make sure I have that address so I can ship your purchase to the right place.
Refunds and Exchanges
I really hope that enjoy your purchase. If for some reason you are dissatisfied, please contact me and we will work out an exchange or refund.
Additional policies and FAQs
I love to make custom orders, just contact me. If you order something custom made, I will notify you when the item is ready for purchase in my shop. If you have not purchased the item within 15 days, I will contact you. If I don't hear from you soon after that I may remove the item or make it available to other people.
