About SeeSophieStitch

Sales 201
On Etsy since 2011

Welcome, come in, would you like a cup of tea?

See Sophie Stitch technically began way back in 2011; having been a lifelong crafter and stitcher, I decided to give something new a try - embroidery. I instantly fell in love and thought that perhaps other people might enjoy my quirky little designs, too. So off to Etsy I skipped, and in a few short minutes my store had been created.

Unfortunately that was as far as I got with the whole thing, because I was apparently very forgetful and a little bit of a procrastinator. The store lay empty and dormant until 2015, when I decided to try and set it up once again.

I sold a few items here and there (including my biggest commission to date at that point - a custom embroidered quilt inspired by the video game Fallout, which, being a gamer, was a joy to create) but with crafting being my day job too, I just didn't have the time or creative energy to really get my store up and running how I wanted.

I married my lovely husband in November 2017 and in the run-up to the big day, was trying to think of some ways to make extra money - apparently weddings are expensive, who knew?! I picked up my needle and thread, worked out some new designs, and in the process, completely fell in love with embroidery all over again. I started stitching that day, and I haven't stopped since.

From fun little pet portraits to Dia De Los Muertos wedding designs, to fierce drag queens and true crime podcasts, I'm inspired by all sorts of things and I truly love that I get to share my makes with the world - and that other people seem to enjoy them just as much as I do.

My dream is to one day take See Sophie Stitch full time, and with enough hard work, determination and silk thread, I'm pretty sure I'll get there eventually. In the mean time, if you've an idea for a custom design, let me know - I love taking on commissions and working with my customers to create something great.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello! My name is Sophie and I'm the one-woman-band and namesake behind See Sophie Stitch. I love embroidery, obviously, and can normally be found, wherever I may be, by following the trail of thread I've inevitably left behind me.
