About selenaannewells
I aim to make beautiful things that look old and worn, like they have a long, mysterious history.
I make things I wish I could find-- things that should already exist but somehow don't. I love old, textured, layered things; intricate but softened, darkened, and frayed by age; ornate and geometric but imperfect.
Someone once told me that my work made her feel like there was an entire other world behind them-- like she could see one small corner of some other time and place. Nothing could have made me happier. I want these pieces to to evoke a particular, specific, but unknown and faraway time and place.
