Vintage Seed Sack Handbags from the '40s & 50's! Do note: price of bags are based on the rarity of the seed sack and complexity of the handbag - some of these prints are hard to find and very rare! Also,

I love mixing unexpected colors and textures, and believe in not taking things too seriously :) I have used a wide range of items like vintage 50s seed sacks, Japanese Wedding kimonos, old floral corsages, wood toys & watches to make fun bags and jewelry. My goal is to keep making things that are practical & fun- reusing vintage items and recreating them to be used in a different light.
My current project uses vintage seed bags from the 40s- 50s. I recently discovered some of these fabrics while going through auctions and barns near my husband's midwest home and have since been collecting and remaking them into handbags. Hope you like them as much as I do!
Please do check out my parts and shop displays: (lots of fun beads, bottles and stuff)

About SelinaVaughan
Hello and Welcome!
No boring black bags here! Selina gets her colorful inspiration from her travels, in fun places like New York, Paris, London, Stockholm, Johannesburg, Bangkok, Tokyo, Turkey, Sydney. Creative and with a mission to dig out interesting old 'stuff' - one of her latest projects is to reuse/upcycle original americana seed sacks from the 30s- 50s into canvas and leather bags. 'it's just so satisfying to transform a product that would otherwise be stored away in a barn for years and never taken out and made into a piece of wearable art!'
'I see these as pieces that are not dictated by fashion- rather they are more like pieces from the past that are timeless'
She recently did a collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger for the seed sack bags for the Autism foundation. Previous projects have used vintage japanese kimonos, french beret labels, tribal bells, old camera lenses, amusement park coins on her bags and jewelry. Do check out her new leather bags with vintage horse brass as well!
Originally from Singapore, Selina now resides in Los Angeles ... and still loves to run off to the nearest flea market to dig for more interesting old stuff!
