Testing new glaze combinations to use on future work! When you try a new glaze, you have some idea of what it will look like, but there are so many variables that could alter it, like temperature, type of clay, and other glazes under or on top of it.

About

"If I go into the woods with you, I must love you very much."

I started creating pottery about ten years ago when I got the chance to take part in some awesome workshops with fantastic potters. A loved one gave me a kiln and I started teaching myself handbuilding and slab-built pottery. Years later I took some classes on the wheel and ever since I've been making pots for people! I just finished a graduate degree in conservation, but am taking the next few months to be a full time potter. I am totally inspired by the natural world, so most of my work reflects the amazing creatures and astounding colors you can find outside when you slow down, look closely enough, and are willing to get your hands in some dirt (as I often am with my pottery!)

I spend half of my time as a graduate student studying conservation and the other half with my hands in some clay. I create functional pottery that is inspired by the colors and creatures in nature. I work out of a home studio and do custom orders!

    Quality Assurance, Muse

This is Squilma the chameleon. She usually gives me the evil eye (only one at a time) while I make pottery. Sometimes she poses in photos with my creations and always serves as my muse.
