About Serrelynda

Video summary: This is a short video showing my soldering process.

Serrelynda's Enchantment

The name for my shop comes from a book by Richard Adams called Maia. In part 3 of the book, Maia returns to Bekla, freed and celebrated as the luck of the city, a great heroine whom the soldiers vote a house, money, and property. She gains an informal title as the "Serrelinda" after Lake Serrelind. My given name is Sara Linda after the princess Saralinda in the James Thurber book "The 13 Clocks" and I loved the idea of an alternate spelling.

I am inspired by nature, mythology, the Art Nouveau era, Art Deco looks, Steampunk, Victoriana, and use materials made in the USA, and bits and pieces I have collected over the years.

My specialties are bold cuff bracelets and precious metal clay designs. I am now signing my work. One of my pieces was recently pictured in the bridal magazine "The Bride and Bloom", and it was a great feeling to see my work "published". Right now, Etsy is my only venue, I have done an "in person" event, and decided I like spending my time creating and designing instead of being out and about at craft fairs and such.

My cuff and earring designs are made in limited quantities, and some pieces cannot be duplicated due to the vintage and antique components. My wax seal pendant pieces turn out different each time I make a batch, and I am always looking for new and unusual intaglios and wax seals.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little bit more about me, and my creative process.

Welcome to my corner of Etsy. I design for pleasure, and love for my jewelry to be unique, stylish and comfortable. I collect unusual vintage buttons, buckles and other miscellaneous items that can be re-purposed, and blend them with new components that only look old. I make my designs in limited quantities, I don't like to make the same thing over and over again too much.
