Jennifer made me a custom dress for my dog Bailey that she will be wearing to my wedding. I absolutely LOVE this dress and Jennifer was such a pleasure to work with! She allowed me to pick every detail so that it will match my dress and even added a few extras which were above and beyond. It is very good quality and the attention to detail is impeccable. I can't wait to take some fun pictures of my dog on my wedding day in this dress!

About

How can I help?

I am a former paralegal turned volunteer and foster mom for Recycled Pomeranians Dog Rescue in Houston. When I saw the price of plain mass produced belly bands for my foster dogs at the store, I knew I could make them cuter and better. I love to learn new things, so off I went to refine my sewing skills. After making a ton of belly bands for myself, donating some to Recycled Poms, and orders for custom harnesses from foster and adoptive doggie parents, here we are on Etsy!

Thank you for supporting my work with Recycled Poms. I am so happy to be able to work from home and provide the best support to these dogs. I usually have 1-2 foster dogs at a time and three full time pomeranians - Max, Revy and my foster failure Regis. I regularly make shelter runs to save dogs from death row and to pick up owner surrender dogs. I use the funds I earn from Etsy to pay for foster dog food and gas for pup pick ups.

So far, we have fostered and re-homed 17 dogs (Walnut, Mozzie, Marty, Newton, Ricotta, HoHo, Diggle, Freedom, Tinsel, Pilot, Patron, Sunshine, Huggs, Roux, Carston, Roby, Pumba) and we're on the 18th with Sissy! If you are interested in adopting a Pomeranian please look up "Recycled Pomeranians Houston" on Facebook.

I am a foster mom for Recycled Pomeranians. Working from home allows me to provide extra care and training that will help these dogs be all they can be. Thank you for supporting my work with Recycled Pomeranians.

  • Revy

    Boss

Revy is my little sweetheart. She's the only girl of the bunch and also my smallest model. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body but she does seem to run things around here. Revy is 3 years old.

  • Regis

    The Entertainer

Regis keeps us laughing around here. He's my foster failure. I was suppose to just foster him but fell in love and adopted him. He's 6 years old.

  • Max

    Security

Max is the dog that started it all. He is a dachshund/pom mix and is 8 years old. This boy gets no better pleasure than keeping a lookout at the window in the sewing room. He lets you know if a delivery is coming or a kid is playing.

Frequently asked questions

Can I return a belly band or diaper?

Because of the intimate nature (health/hygienic reasons), I can't accept returns on belly bands or diapers. If you have a problem, just let me know and we'll find a solution. I can often offer an extender piece, a coupon, an exchange, or other accommodation.

Are the belly bands absorbent? Do I need a liner?

My belly bands are minimally absorbent. They are meant to be used with a disposable panty liner or poise type pad for anything over minor dribbles. With an appropriate pad size they can handle it all! You can cut the pads in half or even thirds for an economical solution. I buy the longest ones I can find and cut them in thirds.

If you want a more eco friendly solution that doesn't require any liners, I can make an absorbent insert sewn directly into the band itself. Please contact me for pricing.

Care instructions

Belly Bands and Diapers: Close the hook and loop tape before washing to avoid the hooks attaching to other items or collecting threads in them. Machine wash in cool or warm water. Air dry for longest life. If you use the dryer, use the lowest setting possible. You can dry on high/medium, the bands just won't last quite as long. To remove urine odor, add regular vinegar to the rinse cycle. I also like the product OdoBan. I add both of these to the "softener" section of my washing machine. Do not use fabric softener or dryer sheets, they interfere with the absorbency of the fibers over time.

Do I have to measure my dog? Are your bands similar to other brands? Is your XS the same as another XS?

Please measure your dog. I know, I hate to do it too. They wiggle! Where is the darn tape measure!

Tada...here is a printable ruler:

**Make sure "fit to page" box is NOT checked**

My bands are uniquely sized. There are no standard sizes for dog clothing. Please know that measuring is the only way to be sure you will get a size that fits your dog. Some folks include more or less hook and loop tape which vastly changes sizing. Include your dog's girth measurement at checkout; I will double check to make sure you have ordered the proper size.

Do you have or can you get this particular fabric?

Send me a convo. I will try my best to find what you are looking for. I have a ton of fabric that just hasn't made it into the shop yet.
