Keep in mind that a lot of these supplies were from my grandmother. She passed away in the summer of 2011 at the age of 92. She collected these items throughout her lifetime but probably stopped buying about 25 years ago when she became too old to really spend time driving around. So I'm only guessing at the age of these items. I loved to go with her on many of her fabric shop trips. She also belonged to a doll club and frequented doll shows to collect fine, hard to find trims for her doll clothes.

She taught me how to sew at a young age. She was a pioneer in the industry and designed sewing patterns. She taught sewing techniques to ladies from her garage which she converted into a large classroom. As a child I used to go in and help the ladies thread their needles. I collected the scraps and sewed quilts and made clothes for my Barbie dolls. I miss her dearly. She was my hero.

In October 2014 I went to the most amazing estate sale. The lady who owned the house was a hoarder. She had a huge room filled with antique laces, ribbons, metal trims, silk fabric and more. Wow did I find some super rare sewing supplies!
