About

Hi, thanks for stopping by. I’m Jenni and I live with my husband of 30 years and our teenage daughter in the beautiful Northern Rivers region of NSW on the edge of the Border Ranges – one of the most beautiful parts of Australia.

I've always loved to read and in my pursuit of knowledge writing, in the form of note taking, has been a huge part of my life. I have shelves full of old notebooks and every day I have at least two, usually three notebooks on the run. My husband is an artist and he also carries one or two A5 notebooks with him everywhere he goes to capture those special scenes. I discovered making journal covers when I was looking for a way to use smaller scraps of fabrics that were left over from making bags. They just seemed to fit together with my own life and I love to make them - so I have taken the plunge and in May 2019 I changed to Sew Hippie Journals - my focus is now on creating journal covers.

My time is juggled between family adventures (we love spending our weekends driving through the rainforests), sporadic bouts of sewing and even more sporadic bouts of social media marketing. Find me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/sewhippie/ and on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/sewhippie/

Caring for your journal cover

Your new Journal Cover can be gently hand washed in cold water. Apply a small amount of detergent to any areas that may be stained. Do not rub fabric or wring. Lay flat to dry. Use a hot iron to remove wrinkles taking care not to iron the elastic strap or satin ribbon (if attached).

Caring for your fabric bag

1. Gentle hand wash in cold water only using a mild detergent. Apply detergent to any soiled areas prior to washing. Do not rub fabric.

2. Rinse in cold water, drain then gently pat or press to remove excess water. Do not wring. Hang in sun to dry.

3. Iron with a warm to hot iron to remove creases taking great care to avoid any zippers, magnetic snaps or ribbons - especially when they are on the other side of the fabric! Gently iron around these areas.

TIP FOR IRONING YOUR BAG: Roll a towel and place inside your bag to fill out the corners. This will give you a soft but firm surface to iron over. Carefully iron to remove creases.
