Frequently asked questions
Printing Scale
To get the printout size right, please make sure the printing scale is set to 100% (not to Fit to page, Fit to width, etc.).
It is best to print out the last page of the pattern first, as it contains a control square. The sides of the square should measure 10x10 cm exactly.
Made to Measure Sewing Patterns
We provide a free customisation for every order.
Kindly send us the personal measurements by PM or email, and mention the preferred printing format. A customisation is completed within one business day.
You may also use the Gift Certificate sent to you after the purchase to get a made-to-measure pattern online.
Augmented Reality sewing patterns
For your customised pattern, you may also use an iPhone application to project the patterns right onto fabric without printing them. You would require to install the VectAR application and to download the SVG files for your pattern on our website (all you need is scan a QR code online to download a pattern piece).
What language are the instructions in?
All sewing instructions are provided in English.
Do your instructions contain diagrams or videos?
Our instruction contain the list of steps to be made (e.g. Sew the side seams), as well as the recommended fabric, the list of the pattern pieces to be cut, and their quantity, and the technical drawings.
The instructions do not contain images, diagrams, or videos.
Can you provide the patterns that I purchased in A0 format?
Our ready-to-download patterns are provided in a Universal format, that can be printed both on A4 and on Letter paper. The ready-to-download patterns cannot be reprocessed for another printing size.
Your custom made-to-measure pattern can be provided in one of these printing formats: A0, A1, A2, A3, A4, Legal, Letter, Tabloid, PLT for 24 inches or 36 inches printing width, PDF for 24 inches or 36 inches printing width, DXF AAMA.
The default printing format is PDF Universal (A4/Letter) plus DXF, plus SVG files for the Augmented Reality projectors.
Do your patterns contain seam allowances?
Our seam allowances are intended for professional and industry sewists, and are rather small. That is why the ready-to-download patterns do not have seam allowances and these need to be added on fabric (think Burda).
Your custom made-to-measure pattern can be processed with seam allowances. The width of the seam allowances is mentioned on the first page of the sewing instructions.
