About

About My Shabby 2 Chic Kitchen

Welcome to my Shabby 2 Chic Kitchen! Over 5 years ago, I began rescuing vintage kitchen items and cookbooks. I believe vintage has stood the test of time and brings with it a beautiful legacy of love and service. Vintage is now the preferred choice for my own kitchen and I started Shabby 2 Chic Kitchen to share this passion for giving new life to vintage.

I take pride in searching out abandoned and forgotten vintage kitchen wares. Which means every item in my store has a story to tell and has enjoyed a very active life of service over previous decades. I’m passionate about resorting these sometimes shabby pieces and ultimately matching them to new homes where they will be loved and given new life.

I specialize in vintage Arcoroc, Corning Ware, Visions and Pyrex, and the items I sell typically have visible signs of use such as scuff marks, surface scratches, fading, etc. I do not try to hide or disguise these badges of service but rather celebrate them. This is the proof of durability, of well-loved life, of useful service. And it is my hope that you will love these hard-working vintage pieces and give them proud new life in your kitchen.

Welcome to Shabby 2 Chic Kitchen! I strive to provide outstanding customer service and I want you to be a happy customer. If you are not satisfied in any way, please contact me so we can work out a solution.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
I accept all the forms of payment listed above. If using Paypal, I must receive confirmation of payment within 24 hours.
Shipping
I ship items Monday through Saturday, excluding USPS holidays. Items typically ship the next business day following confirmation of payment.

I always ship USPS Priority Flat Rate - the Post Office seems to treat priority mail items with greater care. Priority Mail also always includes tracking and insurance for your peace of mind. Because I use Flat Rate boxes, I can also use lots of padding and extra reinforcement to protect your items.

Shipping costs are calculated for the largest item or set in a listing. I always combine shipping for multiple purchases and I will refund any shipping overage over $1.00. If you would like a more exact shipping estimate, please send me an Etsy conversation and I will be happy to calculate the shipping cost.

Sadly, the Post Office does not guarantee a specific delivery date. While most items should arrive within 2-4 business days, please allow 2 weeks for delivery.

If the Post Office is unable to deliver to the mailing address you provide to Etsy and your package is returned to me, shipping and purchase costs are not refundable.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be satisfied with your purchase and I work hard to accurately photograph and describe every item. I am also happy to send you additional photos by Etsy conversation and answer any questions you may have. If you are not satisfied in any way, please contact me so we can work out a solution.

I do not accept returns or offer refunds/exchanges except in the following circumstances:

+ I send you the wrong item
+ I misrepresent the condition of an item
+ An item is damaged during shipment
+ An item is never delivered

I want you to be a happy customer and if your situation meets one of the above circumstances, please:

+ Contact me immediately, within 3 days of delivery
+ Keep all packaging materials - I will need photos of the box and packaging materials.
+ Keep the damaged item - I will need photos of the item and the any damage.
+ Do not return the item unless instructed to do so
+ You will receive a complete refund including all shipping costs if you follow the instructions I provide after you contact me.

Please note: If the Post Office is unable to deliver to the mailing address you provide to Etsy and your package is returned to me, shipping and purchase costs are not refundable.
Additional policies and FAQs
CLEAN: I thoroughly clean all items to remove marks, mineral deposits, residue, and stains. If it can be removed, I will do everything possible to remove it. I do not use chlorine bleach or oven cleaner and I mostly avoid Bar Keepers Friend. To protect your items from dust and dirt during shipment, I also wrap your items in plastic before packaging.

SECURE: Every item is carefully packed in reinforced boxes with lots of padding on all sides. Every box is strapped with reinforced packing tape and all flaps are sealed with decorative tape to discourage tampering.

NO-MESS: Unpacking your items should be easy and mess-free. That’s why I never use styrofoam blocks, broken styrofoam, or pieces of styrofoam. These can can leave behind hundreds of pesky little bits floating about in your home that stick to everything.

PROMISE: If your items should arrive in a condition that does not match this item listing description, you will receive a full refund (including shipping costs). Save all packaging materials and items (even if broken or damaged) and contact me for instructions.

Frequently asked questions

Gift wrapping and packaging

I am happy to provide a gift receipt and to ship to any address you specify within the United States. Send me an Etsy conversation prior to placing your oder with the details of your request. My primary objective in packaging your vintage cookware is to ensure your pieces arrive undamaged. Due to the awkward and fragile nature of vintage glassware, I unfortunately can not offer gift wrapping.

Care instructions

I provide general use and care guidelines for every vintage piece I sell. While I am not an expert in vintage glasswares, I do share what has worked for me in my kitchen. However, these are my personal opinions, so please use your common sense when handling vintage glasswares.
