Announcement    Welcome! To enter this shop is to visit a historical world-that of Shakespeare, his works, and theatre in general. So you will find books about Shakespeare and the times the "Bard" inhabited; theatre costumes; theatre props, like jewelry and handmade items, paper ephemera and items from the world of entertainment today...and here I come to FLOWERS! Flowers, you say? Well, whoever wrote the Shakespearean Canon was VERY familiar and comfortable with flowers and the world of botany, the ideas that flowers were symbols, and the pharmaceutical aspects of flowers- their alchemy. Therefore, I felt it was very appropriate to have dried pressed flowers and bouquets, sachets, dried flower mixes, floral crafts and ephemera pertaining to botanicals... anything pertaining to the world of flowers can be found in my shop.

I started this shop because I love Shakespeare's works and have been researching for over 10 years about the Shakespeare Authorship Question. Could someone other than William Shaksper (as he spelled his name) have written all or even some of the Folio? I believe it IS quite possible that someone or even more than one person, may have contributed to the great body of plays and Sonnets....and I think a woman may have been one of the writers!

Check the woman next to Shakespeare's Droeshout portrait under my banner above. Her name is Mary Sidney Herbert, her brother was Sir Philip Sidney, she was a contemporary of Shakespeare, a very learned woman writer of her day, and a chemist, alchemist, botanist, horticulturist...she even invented her own invisible ink formula in her own chemistry lab at her home, Wilton House. Why is she there prominently beside the "Bard"?

In 2018 I published a book on my theory and you can see this book in this shop. Published by Presses Renaissance Press, it is titled: To Pluck A Crow: Book One: The Hands Behind Shakespeare's Pen. ISBN No. 978-1987963-30-4; eBook ISBN No. 978-1-987963-31-1. The book is now on its third print run. YOU CAN BUY IT HERE; and THE SECOND BOOK OF THIS SERIES WILL BE RELEASED THIS MAY 24th, 2020! IT IS CALLED "To Pluck a Crow: Book Two: Death Stalks the House of Herbert"...STAY TUNED!

This is a work of historical fiction, a modern day mystery and romance, based on real facts (and lots of speculative fiction). The book asks the question : "Who really wrote the works attributed to William "Shaksper"?

I believe that creative moments are graced moments and that Something bigger than ourselves is at work in these inspired imaginative times. So come, sit for a moment, and have a look. I hope the creative inspirations I've found will touch your heart with happiness too!

I have another etsy shop - www.etsy.com/ca/shop//gracedmomentsvintage which sells vintage treasures, craft supplies, my art and homemade articles.

Feel free to send me your WISH LIST... to tell me what you are looking for and my 'tinker' husband and I will find it if we can!

Always follow your dream and hold on to your excitement about it

10 years ago, I became interested in a book by Robin Williams (not the actor, but the authouress), called "Sweet Swan of Avon: Did a Woman Write Shakespeare?"... she contends that Mary Sidney Herbert is a contender for the Shakespearean Authorship Debate. I began to research and 10 years and 6 editors later, here is my book.

I created this shop to offer as many Shakespeare related products as I could find or make, as well as a place for selling the flowers I naturally dry at my home in Ottawa, ON, Canada.

Why dried flowers you ask? Well, Shakespeare mentioned more than 50 different kinds of flowers in his plays and to this day we remember famous lines from the plays, referring to flowers, such as "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet" (Romeo and Juliet).

The woman that I believe may have written some of the works attributed to William Shakespeare, was named Mary Sidney Herbert and she was, among other things, an alchemist and a student of botany. She lived in the 16th and 17th centuries and she had wonderful gardens at her marriage home Wilton House. She also developed a formula for invisible ink!

So, flowers and Shakespeare really do go together....
