Announcement   I have been a soapmaker for about thirteen years and a sewist for about eight years. This shop is a place for me to share some of my handmade goods, from beautifully scented simple bars of soap, lip balms, and lotions, to home items to clothes for your little ones. I believe that the items I make should be beautiful, useful, and a little unexpected, whether in scent or texture or color or design.

The shop is named for my grandmother, who taught me to make things and always reminds me to work harder, to be braver, and to make beautiful things well.

A few words about my soap: I have been working in the cold-process method since I first started making soap in my kitchen in 2000. Over the years, I have enjoyed working with the formulas to produce bars with a beautiful silky texture, which feel wonderful on the hands and the skin. Each bar is made with some combination of vegetable oils, essential oils, shea butter, cocoa butter, and beeswax. For a scrubby bar, ground oatmeal adds texture. Herbs occasionally add color, but I also enjoy the simplicity of a bar that is colored only by the various oils that make it up. I also enjoy the process of blending essential oils to scent the bars. Most of the bars are named for scent memories, and I hope that the scents will be as evocative for you as they are for me. While my process has changed over the years, I still make soap in very small batches of 15 bars each in my home kitchen. If you have any questions about the process or the soaps, please don't hesitate to ask... I love this soap and love sharing information about it!

I love the smell of this serum, the way it feels--it doesn't leave any oily residue left over on the face. A little goes a long way and it leaves my combination, slightly acne prone skin completely nourished.

If I could give this more stars, I would! From the moment that I opened this package, I could instantly smell the essential oils inside the bubble wrap. I really liked the recyclable and reusable, responsible packaging & how fast the package arrived. I also like that the oils were carefully packaged in a blue glass bottle because this says that you really care about how the product does or doesn't interact with the container. I read what the maker said very carefully about the ritual of this oil and I would definitely agree because there is something very comforting and caring about applying something so special to your skin. This serum is fast absorbing, but not overly so. I really love the smell and the olfactory experience is very important to my face care routine. I am really enjoying this for even very sensitive skin
