I paint bold and evocative 'flower scapes' which I sell in my shop alongside prints and cards. I also sell my own printed design wear.
Ideas come from everywhere! Shapes, colours, songs, smells - anything that evokes a personal reaction. They are all the products of an emotional response to something.
My paintings are a focal point in any living space. They are vibrant and eye-catching and come in a wide variety of sizes from tiny 10cm x 10cm originals to 100cm x100cm and occasionally larger.
I am happy to take commissions when requested. Please get in touch if you have anything specific in mind.

Sharon Black Art is just me, painting away in an empty nest, upstairs bedroom - now mostly studio in the old Victorian house I share with my husband and son in a Fife village in the East of Scotland. Painting is how I've expressed myself since childhood. I've used it to express many emotions; sorrow, anger, happiness, abundance, loneliness. I've just always painted. I only considered taking it more seriously when people showed interest in buying pieces. And thrilled though I was that folk liked my stuff enough to buy it and display it in their homes - it's daunting! But I love the buzz that goes with creating, whatever the outcome. I love learning new ways of doing things and incorporating that in my work. The creative process allows me to get in that sort of zen zone - when it's just me, the paint, various media and tools and the canvas. It is SO UNBELIEVABLY liberating.
