OUR PROCESS
I love learning new techniques and incorporating them into my collection. My most recent infatuation is working with reclaimed materials. Ever notice the beautiful colors that shine when the sun hits stained glass? Well it’s not just for church windows anymore! I have taken bits of broken glass and perfected a process to smooth and shine. My favorite part of using all different shapes and sizes of stained glass is laying them out after my polishing procedure and letting the glass tell me what it should become. A light reflecting pair of elegant earnings or sophisticated lariat neck piece. One of my favorite “happy accidents” and best seller is the wire wrapped angel, perfect to symbolize the everyday guardian that watches over us.

My love of recycling others discarded regents also spills into my leather jewelry. Letting the scraps speak to me and tell me they are a trendy wrist cuff or delicate flower ring keeps each piece individual. My creative process is constantly challenged and boundaries are stretched to keep the jewelry exciting. I never know what’s coming next!

About

Taking the Plunge!

Who knew stringing Cheerios would turn into a life long passion. From my first pony bead masterpiece to the more personal creations you see today. Jewelry is my first true love. I can still remember my first trip to the bead store, basket in hand, running my fingers through colorful strands of beads and gathering the ones that would become my works of art.

I became a mom to two adorable twin boys in 2014. It was my dream to stay home and be with them as much as possible. Now that I am home I find that I need my own outlet to avoid mommy mush brain! Thus, Shattered Hues was born! Running my Etsy shop has given me the best of both worlds. I have been able to watch my little men grow up and still feel like I am a functioning member of society....sometimes:)
Thank you to all of those who have supported me on this crazy ride!
