Announcement   Creating beautiful functional pieces with my hands is my passion. There is something magical about being able to take something in its rawest natural form, and with your own hands, turn it into a one of a kind piece that can be forever enjoyed.

All of my custom orders include photos of your piece's journey through 3 stages: greenware, bisque firing, and glaze application...a great way to get connected with your new pieces prior to actually receiving them. I would be happy to work with you on glaze selection to make your dinnerware set or special treasure that reflects your unique taste and personality.

All of my pieces are handmade by me in my new studio in Chestermere, Alberta Canada. The majority of my pieces are thrown on the wheel while some are constructed by hand using a slab roller. Pieces are bisque fired to 1800+ degrees, glazed, and then fired again to 2200+degrees. All pieces are dishwasher, microwave and oven safe. When using your piece in the oven, do not place it in a pre-heated oven as this could cause the glaze to crack. Slow warming and cooling of the piece is recommended. All pieces will hold water as they are naturally porous so you will need to allow sufficient time for the piece to air dry before putting it away.

Made to Order items will ship within 3-6 weeks.

I used my tortilla warmer for the first time today and it was perfect. I had this piece custom made to my specs and it came out just like I wanted it to. I have looked for a piece like this for over 30 years and have never quite found one like it. I am so glad that I asked Shawna to make it for me. I also received a matching butter keeper and it works great too! Awesome stuff, great communication, and photos of pieces as they make it through each step. A wonderful place to buy pottery. Thank you! Christine

About

Pottery has become my passion

People often ask me - "What do you do"?
I always have a hard time answering the question...I don't work... I don't go to a job...I don't get an hourly wage or yearly salary... I'm a stay at home mom of 2 beautiful active kids, 2 dogs and have been married to my husband for 10 years. Once the kids are off to school I hang out in the garage - my studio. My garage/studio is where I get dirty when I drop a pound or two of clay on Brent, my pottery wheel, transforming it from a ball into a manipulated form that will be trimmed, fired in the kiln, glazed, and fired again. Christmas Day comes often to my world. I anxiously wait hours before I can open the kiln lid to see what treasures await me. Some days are not great days, when the glaze drips onto the kiln shelf, but other days I experience the most amazing high when I see what has transformed.

Creating with my hands, a treasure that can be used and will last a lifetime, is what I do!
