5 out of 5 starsI couldn't be more satisfied with this purchase! It is exactly as expected. I made sure it was tall enough to hold some dangly earrings (also purchased through Etsy). Shipping was great, it arrived so quick! It was a perfect gift for my wife! Who doesn't love a unique handmade item? My wife loves it! You will too!

Create your happy place.
I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love to get my hands dirty. My mom sent me out to play with my hair curled in my adorable sundress and I came home barefoot, covered in mud. Of course I had baby toads, bugs and rocks in my pockets. I loved to explore the natural world around me and make my home with mudpies and “cook” weed soup in my field kitchen.
That girl still lives inside of me, but I cleaned up my act a bit and channeled my love of mud into creating pots of purpose for my family and yours. Oh, and I’m a better cook now, too.
I get so much joy from feeling this natural material in my hands. I am grateful to be able to turn clay into something beautiful, useful and lasting. It is freeing and flexible and ever changing, and even though I repeat forms, each day in the studio is different and each piece is unique.
My family lives in a small rural town in Northeast Ohio. I have my studio at home and it is a blessing to have my work and family life blended into a seamless and peaceful journey. I love that my son can hang out in the studio while I throw pots, and my daughter and her big yellow dog can pop in to visit from her home around the corner. I can provide homework help with dirty hands, or get excited about Sean’s next creative big idea.
The best part of all of this is that I can share my happy place with you. I’m so thrilled to send these pieces out into the world and create a special moment in your day, or give you something unique and lovely to present to your favorite people. Thank you for supporting this small business and giving my pottery a home. Your home. I hope you receive as much delight from using these pots as I did in creating them.

CARE OF STONEWARE
Thank You for supporting Fine American Craft. Each piece of
SheaClay stoneware pottery is handmade on the potter's wheel
from food safe clay and glaze, and may be used with care in the oven, dishwasher and microwave. The following guidelines will help you to care for SheaClay Pottery:
Hot Stoneware can cause burns if handled improperly. Always use a heat-resistant oven mitt or pad when handling hot stoneware or placing on surfaces.
Avoid extreme temperature changes. Don't put frozen food in stoneware and put into a hot oven. Always allow Stoneware to cool to room temperature prior to adding liquid or cleaning. Do not use chipped or damaged stoneware.
Do not use Stoneware under broiler or on direct heat source.
Stoneware should not touch the sides of the oven or oven door when closed.
Sometimes stoneware that has been through repeated cycles in the dishwasher may absorb moisture, especially if the bottom is unglazed or the piece is matte glazed. This may cause ware to get hot in the microwave, so use extreme care and a mitt to test before removing. Allow ware to dry thoroughly, or handwash as an alternative, and avoid boiling liquids in the microwave to avoid possible overheating of ware.
Each piece is smoothed and sanded with care, but due to the granular nature of hardened stoneware, care should be taken to use coasters and placemats to protect fine furniture and counters from scratches. Your new pottery is coated with durable and stable glaze which will give you many years of good use and can be put in the dishwasher. However, some very harsh citric or chemical based water softening agents may dull the glaze finish over time and with many repeated washings. It is best to avoid them. If you have any questions or concerns about the care of your SheaClay stoneware, please email inquiries to sheaclaypottery [!at] gmail.com
