Artful Humor

I was one of those kids that had a wild imagination.
I always had to be doing something creative.
I’m still the same to this day.
I’m happy to welcome you to my first collection from my written and illustrated series of “artful humor”, Life with a Bit of a Giggle
with Lulu and Mew!
Which is about a savvy woman
and her kitty cat companion.
I like to think that my quirky style of art portrays a girly girly flamboyance, that many of us can identify with.
Originally I dreamed up the pair when I was 10 years old. They resurfaced many years later as I developed my art career, which has had many incarnations to say the least.
I begin each of my illustrations in pencil,
then finish them off with ink and watercolor paints.
The simplicity of working this way allows me
to bring an idea to life whenever the mood strikes me.
I believe the way we play as children
often influences our lives as adults.
In my case I still draw inspiration from my childhood. “Dahling” came from pretend tea parties I had with
my lifelong, childhood friend Sue.
The ideas for each of my pictures are a combination
of myself, my sisters, my friends, my mother
and of course the many women I meet.
They all inspire me in so many ways. Which has been such a gift!
I hope this first collection of my artwork brings you giggles and laughter, and leaves you smiling.
