Historien bakom Sherdfield
The Story Behind Sherdfield
Sherdfield grew from a lifelong fascination with clay, history, and the stories objects carry through time.
Raised by two artists, I was surrounded by creativity from my earliest memories. Clay became my favorite medium at a young age, and I quickly discovered that ceramics were more than just art—they were a way to connect with people, places, and the past.
That passion eventually led me to earn a Master's degree in archaeology, where I fell even deeper in love with ceramics. Studying ancient pottery revealed how a simple vessel could preserve thousands of years of human history. Every sherd, pattern, and maker's mark told a story of the people who created and used it.
Today, Sherdfield brings those two worlds together. Each piece is handcrafted with a love for bold color, thoughtful design, and the rich traditions of ceramics throughout history. Drawing inspiration from archaeological artifacts, ancient decorative motifs, and the beauty of handmade pottery, I create functional ceramics that are meant to be used, enjoyed, and become part of your own story.
Whether it's a mug that starts your morning, a bowl shared around the dinner table, or a decorative piece displayed in your home, my hope is that every creation celebrates the enduring connection between art, history, and everyday life.
Thank you for supporting handmade work and for becoming part of the continuing story of Sherdfield.
