Stories of Grace In Sterling Silver

Welcome! My name is Robbie-Lynn and I am the owner, designer, maker and everything else at Florilège Artisan Jewelry.

For me, creating is like prayer; a way to connect with my Creator. It gives my heart a rest from the storms of life and gives me the peace of mind to face them again. I believe that my creative inspiration is one of the many ways I experience the grace of God. It is my hope that my jewelry expresses that grace and blesses those who wear it, hence the name of my shop.

The French word for anthology is florilège (flor-ee-lej), it comes from the Latin word florilegium which was used to describe a selection of uplifting writings like scripture or poetry. In other words; Stories of Grace.

As an artist I am drawn to the vastness of nature in sweeping landscapes as well as the intricate organic lines of tiny things like butterflies, leaves and flowers. I find many spiritual lessons in nature and many of my designs are based on natural forms. I am also an avid reader. I love language and the power words have to influence us.

My Jewelry is made using traditional jewelry fabrication techniques. I love working with silver; manipulating it, giving it form and texture. There is something so spiritual about the beauty of silver. It is light and reflective yet warm and organic. The more you bend, shape and hammer it the stronger and more lustrous it becomes. Yet, you can break silver if you stress it too far. It takes finesse to know the boundaries and guts to see if they can be pushed. It is consistently amazing to me to see a coil of wire or sheet of metal become a tiny wearable sculpture infused with meaning.

I can image the bride in Ohio or the mother in Canada making memories while wearing a piece of jewelry that I created. I love the idea that I become a part of other people's stories through my work. My hope is that you will find a story of grace in my shop that resonates with you.
