Announcement   Welcome to my store! This is my small corner of Etsy, carved here as a place to display some very special creations... The ones that I call shining silmarils.

Why do I call them silmarils? The name is from the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, where the three silmarils were jewels of unequaled beauty. While my silmarils are not jewels, but painted glass, I certainly think that they are worthy of such a name!

Thank you so much for visiting... Please, come inside. Rest awhile. Revel in the beauty here and drink some tea. If you have any questions, please look at my policies or convo me. I am happy to share my creativity with you!

About

Sharing a Love of Shiny Things...

Shining Silmarils is a project of love and a touch of whimsy... This is where I share lovely shiny things that make me smile, and I hope make other people smile, too.

How did it begin?
This store actually has its roots in my other Etsy store, Wonder and Whimsy (anafiassa.etsy.com). I started making and listing these pendants... and soon, they started to outnumber my other listings. So, to give them their proper attention, I created a store entirely for them.

Why call them silmarils?
The name silmaril is, obviously, taken from the work of J.R.R. Tolkien. When I was trying to decide what to call these pendants, I wanted something that would capture their beauty--and just a hint of something fantastical and special. It was my mother, actually, who first suggested the name silmaril--and it stuck!

And so, there you go... Thank you so much for dropping by, and I hope that my shinies brighten your day!

Welcome to Shining Silmarils!

This is my small corner of Etsy, and it is my goal to make your stay here as wonderful as possible. As such, I strive to provide the highest possible level of service to all of my customers.

Below are some of my basic policies. If you have a question that you don't see answered here, just send me a convo! I am usually very quick to respond, and would love to help in any way that I can.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
  • Buy with Apple Pay
  • Pay with Sofort
  • Pay with iDeal
  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Money Order
Payment
The preferred method of payment is PayPal, as it enables me to ship out the items immediately. PayPal payment is expected within three days of checking out. Items not paid for in this time will be relisted, and the transaction canceled.

Update: I understand that there are instances were online payment is not possible. In those cases, I do accept money order. Please keep in mind, however, that this delays the transaction a bit, as I cannot ship the item until the money order arrives. Money order payment is expected within a week of checking out (unless I am otherwise contacted). Items not paid for in this time will be relisted, and the transaction canceled.
Shipping
I ship Mondays through Fridays via USPS First Class Mail. Once you place your order (and I receive payment), your item will be in the mail within two business days. You will also be notified when your item is in the mail. In the rare instance that extenuating circumstances delay the shipping of your item, you will be notified of that as well. Please note that, if your item is being sent internationally, I am not responsible for any delay caused by customs.

If you are interested in adding shipping insurance to your order, please tell me via convo before checking out so that I can add it as an option. Also, I do ship internationally, but bear in mind that insured international shipping rates are quite high. If interested in insured international shipping, again please convo me so that I can send you a quote as to the price.

I ship to the address connected with your Paypal account… if this is not the address that you want me to use—if you are sending something as a gift, for example—please notify me when you check out.

One last note about shipping internationally... please bear in mind that I can only handle custom fees associated with mailing the items. I say this because there are some countries that require that you pay certain custom fees locally to pick the articles up from the postal services--and that is not something that I can handle from my end. Please keep this in mind when ordering... I don't want you to be surprised when you go to pick up your lovelies!
Refunds and Exchanges
Refunds: I do my best to accurately depict my listings both through pictures and descriptions. As such, unless it can be shown that I made a mistake in the listing, all sales are final. If you have any questions about the listing before buying it, just ask! I will do my best to answer any questions that you might have.

Repair: If an item is damaged, I am more than willing to repair it. Once I have it fixed and good as new, I will once again ship it via USPS First Class Mail.

Lost packages: I cannot be held responsible for lost packages. In the case that you paid for insurance, I can file an insurance claim. Other than that, while I will do my best, I will not have any way to track it down.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom Orders

On creating new designs: If you something in your mind that you would like for me to bring to life, just let me know! I would love to work with you to create the piece of your dreams.

On creating previously made designs: I hardly ever make the same thing twice on my own volition. I will, however, certainly do so by request. If you look at the items that I have sold and would love for me to make you something you see there, just ask! If I have the materials, I would love to oblige. If I do not have the materials, I will see if I can create an acceptable substitute.

The only exception is, of course, those designs that I have created specially for other customers. Their custom orders are their property. I may ask them if I can repeat the design for you, but it is up to them to decide. If they say no, I can work with you to create something beautiful just for you.
